Please dont believe that you will get a smartphone with this device.
Using xpphone1 showed me that it is a UMPC with a small phone-function. There is no automatic sync with outlook and no calendar with a reminder-function. The phone-software is very unstable and so you are not always reachable like using a “normal” handy. The camera for skype and photos is simply not in place. These are only examples out of the long list of problems. Questions to ITG (even if these problems are solved with xpphone2) are not answered. So if you need more than a technical gimmick any other smartphone will do a better job.

xpPhone 2 packs a 1.6GHz processor (a single-core Atom Z530), which can be upgraded to 2GHz (it's unclear how), plus 2GB of RAM, which is double what current smartphone flagships have, wooo! so amazing!

Yeah; this is not new. Or interesting.

Call me when they fit an optical drive on it.
Or a full-sized USB port I can hook up "actual peripherals" to.
Or when it comes with a pony and rainbows.

                          Yawn.

I believe this device should have a foldable display... and one micro pin extension for USB devices and DVD drives...

I know 1280x800 displays are seen in Samsung G Note, but for windows you should have good pointing system and display size too...

We should remember that even smaller laptops run Windows 6.0 CE and not windows 7/8... So, getting Win 8 on an even smaller device is a big challenge... Best of luck to ITG. :)
The problem is that once you get Windows 8 on the device, PEOPLE WILL START HAVING BIG EXPECTATIONS.

I suspect problem with using the Windows platform with touch input. (say, "hover" will not work)

Ok. First off. I understand how they would want it to be the Windows 7 os...BUT THEN WHY IS IT STILL CALLED THE XP PHONE????? That's smart. Second when did the first one come out!? I remember the article about them working on the first one and I have been on here almost every day and checked back on many things and never saw anything about it being released. I was waiting! Lol. Also the first one was supposed to have lots of cpu and ram options. Lots of storage options with flash and ssd. Also card slots. Alos supposed to have full options of either gsm/cdma/ and many regions or even both I thought. I hope what is in this two is way beyond what was in the 1.
