Well, I like the camera solution. No waste of display space for notches or holes and for people like me, who don't do selfies and use the front camera maybe once every few months, the durability of the mechanism is not an issue. Unfortunately the lack of a 3.5 mm audio jack means that I won't be giving this a try despite good experiences with previous models.

Optical Scanner is obviously worse than physical but you know... New tech

People are now hyped with Animoji, AR, Instant Message of your face. All this required front camera. Front camera might be possible for mid rangers.. But flagship? No way.. no company will be willing to give that up.
Like it or not.. we have to support those selfie lovers, social lovers.. They are the one that always talk about camera.. how camera can make them more beautiful .. or more attractive..

I wish OP discard away the pop up camera and the in-screen fingerprint scanner.
Just use the rear fingerprint and without front camera.
I would glad to have that kind of phone.

They need to stop with these popup bullshit. I own Vivo V15 Pro, took a selfie and then my phone restarted. Dumb thing is the popup camera is still out while my phone is restarting. So when I open selfie again, the popup camera is coming down, and then when I close selfie, it's coming up again. It's become reversed. A bug which I had to induce force restart with similar case to fix the problem.
The other problem, it's gets dirty over time.
Dust and the like is entering, it feels like the popup is not smoothly coming up.
The biggest of all, popup camera seems childish and embarrassing.
But of course, it's probably just me.

Mzma PIB, 09 Apr 2019Not Vivo but just Oppo phone c/w preinstalled Oxygen OS.. honestly though with the ugly software of oppo or vivo oxygen os is waay better software,which itself makes it more compelling,i mean vivio and oppo have such ugly ui,no phone with compelling hardware from oppo or vivo can even make it worthwhile just because of the software

yet!, 08 Apr 2019wrong decision to make a pop-up camera.. this will ruin the... morePop up is the best solution right now it's way better than any type of notch like teardrop or punch hole notch and better than bezels it can allow for almost 100% screen to body ratio and still looks cool to have one. I don't think that it will be fragile like some says (yes vivo nex s and oppo find x were not durable but that was the first gen it should be improved in oneplus 7) and about ip68 oneplus didn't had one and I don't think it would have one

There is in display fingerprint reader but it's nowhere near as secure and fast as the fingerprint reader that previous oneplus had forexample the oneplus 5/5T
I rather have a punchole, looks way cooler and i can unlock the phone with a flipcase without even touching the phone.
That's what i do with my oneplus 5T, Open to wake feature with a magnet installed on the flipcase for the 5T.
If the 7T copmes with a punchole i'm gonna buy it and better yet, if it comes with a headphone jack, then im gonna buy it the day it launches.
