Touchwiz for what ? my foot.
If samsung or HTC or motorola rolls out updates regularly and maintain their top end products well.
(u know mid range = previous years top end like Galaxy S is mid range in 2011 where it was high end range in 2010).
The main problem is developers or google is not showing any interest in moving the platform fast.
Instead google and OEMs look only at shipping volumes.
Google is only thinking about "How to sell the devices and maintain lead ?" but not "What should we changed in order to improve consumer experience ?".
2 Years back when iPad came all android users said "same OS on phone and tablet is bad , apple is brainwashing etc"
What is google doing now ? Isnt it same ? they are marketing ICS as "One OS that runs everywhere" which means just like iOS , ICS also is same for both tablets and phones with slight modifications.
At the end , Fragmentation is why android is bad , each OEM incorporates one type of change , Touchwiz,Motoblur,HTCSense etc.
Nexus phones never have this problem as they run stock version of android , i personally dont hate Nexus phones.I only hate android phones made with those customizations i mentioned above like Motoblur etc.Which wont even support 1.5 year updates
Galaxy Nexus poor battery or whatever , they are solvable u can buy xtra pack or so , if u want keyboard , u can attach an external accessory , but fragmentation is not solvable.
If Google maintains curated market so that trojans wont attack and specify OEMs about hardware control , Android improves.
But the way android is built , it lags cannot be stopped unless u use very good hardware , If android needs smoothness then , Whole Android OS needs to be re written which is not possible.
atleast hope ICS has hardware acceleration.
I dont hate google , they made many things like maps , search , gmail.
I use gmail , google search as my home page but google's android is poorly implemented thats all.
I prefer iOS/WP.

As is the case with iPhones there have only ever been 5 of them so apps written for iPhones can be tailored exactly to the hardware, whereas android phones with 2 cores are running the same apps that can be used on a 600mhz wildfire s, android developers can't tailor an app or game for one handset as apple (and to an extent wp7 with it's minimum spec) can.
And of my friends who went from 3gs to galaxy s one still has the galaxy s and loves it still, one has just got a galaxy nexus on upgrade and the other one is due an uograde and can't decide between the 4s and galaxy nexus.

WP had single core and running very good.
So usability is more important than specs.
Dual core doesnt mean it is fast , usability depends on how they work but not in which speed they work.
For example , Dual core can handle multiple threads at same time which increases our output in less time and have more power.
Take xbox 360 or PS3 , they use like 512 MB RAM or like that but xbox 360 can handle 1-6 threads at same time so even with low specs , xbox can outperform quad core PCs in most areas like graphics or stability to create high resolution content.
4 GB RAM on pc and 3 terraflops card cant be "usable" unless u have apps which utilize multiple threads and also that much RAM and unfortunately real world is different from paper specs ,
So whether u run single core or dual core , dual core may increase output but to see real output we need to have perfectly polished and optimized software.
Thats why xbox games with no problem run neat at low configuration of hardware not because it is a "console" but due to efficient management of resources.Thats what u call it polished OS.
Thats why u see ipod touch and Galaxy players run with same speeds as iphones/galaxies inspite of no phone or GPS , because software is not optimized beyond that limit so u can't get improved performance in speeds on those "hand-held-console" devices.
Yes they were happy with Galaxy S and now ?
There is a small difference between Consumer Report and A Consumer review.
Consumer reviews only say about initial experience but not more than that.
A consumer report tells how consumer felt about his "device" for specific period of time (like one year or 6 months or 2 years).
If u ask me i give 5/5 for galaxy and iPhone as consumer review but only 2/5 as consumer report for galaxy and 4/5 for iPhone.
Support and usability is important.

AnonD-9023, 16 Jan 2012First of all , those 2 apps really need good gpu and also b... moreI think you're being a bit hard on the Galaxy S, it may not be your favourite phone but it is far from junk and as you say poor a 3gs clone I know people that had 3gs's and loved their i9000s when they upgraded, even my brother in law who has an iPhone 4 said he wouldn't mind a galaxy phone after seeing the galaxy s next to his iPhone.

It's very good example how it make big difference if App is well made and thinked throught, it has so many good litlle things which make your workflow very good even with tiny screen, i also use flstudio mobile it isn't near as good if we talk about usability.
Not surprise why garageband have 4½ star rating in appstore, Apple did a excellent job turning that software for phone environment.

So if i tell some gameloft games or games like rage etc u say "games only ?". bla bla and say android also have them.
So I mentioned app like garageband instead of game.
And also i personally used both , both are stunning apps i have ever used.
One game + One app both are standard apps one made by apple and other 3rd party game.
Those gameloft games are 2nd class while infinity blade 1 and 2 , rage , Galaxy On Fire which run high end graphics since they use advanced 3D engines and also support dual core completely even games like asphalt 6 or 9mm wont have dual core support.
And next apps like iMovie , Garageband , iWork are first class apps which support cloud as well as iWork create ppts (create doc and convert it to ppt).
There is difference between apps which are just apps vs apps which have integration.
Take those set of apps i mentioned , all have cloud support and all work perfect, and coming to 4S , take Siri for example , its integrated rather than just app.
iPhone had voice control functionality right from 3GS model.Vlingo and Siri apps were available to iPhone long before but they are nothing compared to integrated Siri.Integrated version integrates in other apps and gives more results as well as good control over results , its AI rather than just app.
I tried Iris on galaxy s2 but not as good as Siri.
And Siri works handfree as well.
if ur phone is in pocket u can ask siri through mic in earphones or bluetooth and give voice commands and siri gives back voice answers.
Lots of difference right ?
WP is very good and i admit its more polished than iOS.but android is just use and throw phones. Sluggish and slowest updates.

but again windows 7 users are more happy than Vista users.
One update is good and other is bad.
Whole point is if u have latest OS , u can run any latest app , and security also improves since latest update will have less marketshare for sometime.
If i have 2.3 gingerbread i cant run 4.0 ICS app , there maybe nothing new about that app but still ICS app is ICS app and cannot run it on older versions unless developer designed it that way.
As other one replied phone life span of other phones is less. today buy one and next day u find another phone.Our phone will be ignored and looks bad just after 1 month and for every design change u must buy one accessory or more.
Yes design is important but whats inside the phone is more important.iPhone 4 , Nexus S and Galaxy S look same interms of specs but Nexus S got updates and SGS didn't.Even iPhone 4 got updates.
Once look at windows 7 how polished it is.
I looked at it myself and take patience and go to youtube and watch lumia review or something u see whats difference between polished OS and unpolished one.
Android and iOS look same little bit and Touchwiz looks like cheap copy of iOS UI. Marketing gimmik made by samsung as everyone knows.ICS looks very good but due to Touchwiz , (u know remaining thing how ICS looked on Galaxy s2)
WP 7.5 looks unique and also has good control on hardware , so WP 7.5 never face the problems which android is facing now and look at zune marketplace no malware and neatly maintained.
I think Google needs to learn lot from WP 7.5.
I dont know whats wrong with apple marketing lol.
Every place they dont mention how much RAM they use and what processor they use (they callit A5 or A4).
They only advertize how their device works and in what areas they work thats all.
They dont make ads seeing flash websites or adding themes.They advertize what their phone is capable of thats all.
Their ads are understandable for non-geeks/common people thats all.
For people like us we know about iphone very well than other phones in market.
Every phone comes and compares itself to latest iPhone.
we talk only about iphone.
Just go to android articles.
people make negative comments of iphone but still "They are talking about iphone" .
We are the ones who freely improving their popularity.
Justin beiber also become famous because of that , every youtube video has "hate comment on justin bieber" and so he is popular.

Action Kamen, 16 Jan 2012I just brought an iphone 4s last week but the battery very ... morevery bad?!?!?! Doesn't sound very bad to me either, but what matter is what you get when your battery is low like 3% not what you loose in half hour.
If you get pure usage time maybe 6 hour avarage that should be ok. IT depends how you use it, of course you can't play games 6hours.
