Y... moreTech sites refer to it as Explorer because of Mi 8 Explorer but it's not known as that for Mi 9. Check the China Mi Site. Mi 9 page says "Transparent Edition", whereas Mi 8 page says "Exploration Edition".

They say "Mi 9 Transparent edition (which may be called Mi 9 Explorer)". Their subsequent articles used that name despite never being officially called that.

All I'd want from this (if comparing to the Mi 9) is more bands, MUCH bigger battery, stereo speakers, main camera with OIS, and expanded memory with the music I already have loaded onto a card.
