No exaggeration intended but if I was an Apple user with a degraded and slow iPhone, I'd go back to my old Lumia 520, still usable for me in 2019...

No he doesn't have a special iPhone 7, his battery is still in good shape. Easy to do when you live in an area with good signal and you don't drain the battery.
My 2 year old iPhone 7 Plus has 87% battery and it's faster than my S9+.

abigfanoftechs, 23 May 2019You must have a special iPhone 7, made especially for you. ... moreThat is, if the battery is degraded. Like you see people using iphones with old batteries that barely last half a day and shut down in cold weather. If battery health is over 66%, there won't be a slow down of the device.

My iPhone 7 got down to 96% battery health after 18 months of everyday use and charging it to 80% battery every two days. (yes, the battery lasts for about 36-48 hours on my iPhone 7)
So unless you do two 'zero-to-full' charges each day for 2 years straight, your phone is most likely fine and will not be affected by slowdowns.

Apple already admitted their updates affected the iPhone 7 as well. It was part of the battery replacement program.

A responsible company would give their customers a choice. Lousy battery or laggy phone?
An even more responsible company would let their customers choose whether to update their phones or not. An even more responsible company would design updates for older models, as opposed to a cheap one-size-fits-all solution.

So, we are in 2019 and this is not Kansas anymore. I hope that iPhone(s) from 2019 will have, at least underscreen fps, small notch (dot, or waterdrop), or periscope camera, better battery(s) in real life usage, and at least 2A charger in the box, and other stuff like phones with 200-300$ price tag.

They should profit to research how many backdoors those phones have and take actions against it.
