Memory issue aside (I'll come to that later)

    NO RADIO!!!

    WTF?!?!

ARGH!!!! Are we going backwards in time? 4 cores but no radio and no expandable memory - what they giveth with one hand, they taketh away with the other...

    As for memory...

Let's look at a 'real' user (and I'm being as general as possible here)

Bear in mind - you don't get 32gb, you get 26gb after the conversion and internal software...

    Apps (non games) - 2gb
Games - a few decent ones and little ones - 3gb
    Music - (320kb) 5gb
    Films / TV Series - 8gb
    Photos / Videos taken - 5gb

Now that's 23gb out of 26gb taken, before you look at updates, docs, and enough buffer storage to get it running decently...

    And these are conservative amounts...

It's a massive fail on behalf of not such HTC but Sony also... WHAT ARE THEY THINKING!??!

AnonD-10287, 26 Feb 2012I have to disagree with you for several reasons: For examp... moreAs I implied in my earlier post my reason for not being happy about HTC axing the MicroSD card reader is because of the impact it has on available memory, not just per se, or about the phone not having a random spec anymore.
The phone has a 720p screen and it allows to view HD movies on a big screen tv. I want to have five or six 720p movies stored in the phone so that I have the choice for a particular movie for a particular day, or for when I'm on vacation. I don't want to view one movie, erase, view another, erase, etc.
I want to have a reasonable selection of about 80 music albums. As I said in FLAC; once you listen to lossless music with quality headphones you'll never want to go back to compressed music believe me. Not everyone recycles their music as fast as you do, some prefer to have a wide selection of genres stored.
Then add the storage-hog 1080p video recordings from the onboard camera, a GPS app worth a couple of gigs and a handful of Apps and pretty soon the inboard storage is maxed out. Five 720p movies 20GB + 80 FLAC music albums 32GB + GPS maps 2GB = 54GB, and then add the 1080p camera recordings etc. In the HTC One X the user only has 26GB available of the 32.
At the end of the day we are talking about HTC axing the MicroSD card reader which costs them probably less than a dollar, but costing us the users the option of having 32Gb more.
This is a Flagship phone, the best of the best for HTC. You may buy a Lamborghini and then the salesman tells you: "you can only drive it in a 20 mile radius, anyway that's what the 90% of the customers end up doing". That may be true but I want the option to drive further, I don't want to see the same things over and over. If I want more storage in my phone let me put a darn memory card in there - at my cost.

Observer, 26 Feb 2012There really is no excuse for not having a MicroSD card con... moreI have to disagree with you for several reasons:
For example, not the presence of lack of Micro SD is the issue..but the storage space available. Or, to be honest, 32 gb are MORE THAN ENOUGH for over 90% of the users. A 720p movie has 4-6 gb but you are not supposed to carry it around for decades on your phone! How many times do you watch a movie? is not like..every time when you are bored you jump to see the SAME movie for hundreds of times!
The same with music. Normally, everyone recycle their music. A normal music album, in flac format has around 300-500 mb (the same size in mp3 format is max 100 mb). Simple math show us that a normal 30 GB storage space can store 2-3 full hd movies and 30 full albums of music in flac format (or 90-110 albums in mp3 format) and ALL the other files (games, documents, pics, navigation). DO you think this is NOT enough? maybe...for under 10% of users...but not more.
The problem of micro SD may be of discusson (i repet..for the large masses, not for those under 10% of users) if the phone has 1 gb of space and NO micro SD..but this is not the case.
The another advantage is Android and its possibility to store different files in different folders and the ability to manage those very simple, so you can manage your media files very simple end effective, opposite to iOS where this is more complicated.
The internal memory is faster than a Micro SD.
The lack of internal Micro SD for me is only a problem only when you want to transfer instantly the content on another device and here the micro SD (with an adapter for SD) comes handy. But in rest..in those condition is not a issue!
As i have stated several threads before, my main concern is the battery...not the lack of Micro SD. And of course, the camera, wich, traditionally, is mediocre on HTC devices.

seriously though, lossless flac thru any headphones probably sound as good as a tape player through computer speakers.. and convert that 720p 4g file into a 700mb mp4 file cause on a 4-5 inch screen itll look the damn same.

There really is no excuse for not having a MicroSD card connector. It hardly takes space or weight, it costs next to nothing. Come on HTC.
A regular 720p movie in mkv format takes 4 GB already. If you want lossless FLAC music albums it eats up storage pretty fast as well. Isn't this a multimedia phone with outstanding video and audio, HTC?
Sorry, but for me no MicroSD and my money goes somewhere else.
(I really liked this phone I was looking forward to buying it).
Implying that Cloud Storage is a good substitute for a MicroSD is a joke.

I can't wait to see the reviews on this. 32gb is just about enough for a smartphone, if you don't want to put all of your music onto it. Movies should scale down to several hundred MB, so you can still fit a lot onto it.

That battery is a worry though.

I own an sgs2 n its battery life is nt just 4hrs but more like 8-10hrs for moderate use(still poor though) .N if u think dat with time devices having more dan four inch screen r goin to last more lyk 2-3hrs den checkout da review on moto Razr n dat on galaxy note. N if dats nt enough, check out samsung's new exynos processor's blog. N even if dat does nt suffice, den intel has made a fone just for you. Its small, black n white,a copy of nokia's first ever cellphone, not-so-comic, but with enough charge to last for 15 years! Go have it, njoy :)

The lack of SD slot is another conspiracy. Think about it, if you don't have additional physical storage, you probably would actually use the cloud storage. And then all your data will be easilly available to them.
