your all looking at the short term. Your Lumia 900/800 will have windows 8 in further months ahead. For the price, you will have free future updates, and the price will be competative once other retailers compete. Another thing is they keep selling out across europe and other places. And another thing nokia belle is on par with ios and android. It is very good. And there is nokia belle feature pack 1 update coming for those with nokia belle already, also nokia carla and dual core donna will be out in the near future. I won't under estimate nokia microsoft or sym either at the moment. Erm. They've only just started. If you know what i know about nokia and what they have already and not released yet, you wouldn't want to look at any other phones. If you think 41mp is impressive, just see what else they haven't told you about (that i know) besides, uk hasn't even got 4G. So nokia have had to go backwards for the uk's sakes. There more forward than the UK. And iphone is so yesterdays phone. My dad says history repeats it self. Apple is going down and Nokia has a rocket. Also my country is still waiting cos nokia can't keep up with demand. Getmany, ireland, france, holland, russia keep selling out. And it is ther number 1 selling handset. Wait for the 900 and 808 with belle FP1 you might be surprised. And belle is not to be under estimated at all. "underestimation at your priory".

Keep a check on price nokia .... dont follow ur old way of pricing. Competitors are pricing phone somewhere around $650 .... if u wanna be back in business .... get the pricing right. $850 is just crap i would say. I love this phone but still its over priced. anything around $600 would have been good.
its good to sell more products which are priced reasonably than selling selling minimal high priced products.
number of phones sold/shipped matters a lot these days to gain customer interest.

Nokia Lumia is a different world, if you are using a windows pc, then you should never back IOS simply because New windows 8 will be so much like Nokia Lumia, i am using windows 8 right now and i can tell you it has so much potential. i just hope that manufacturers dont ruin it.

Iphone 4s is so last year both hardware and software. Nokia Lumia is the future. I am die hard fan of Android, since i got my hands on Lumia 800 and Windows 8 last night i am in love with it.

I just pointed out an important information which could save you well over 100 Pounds and you started calling me a "muted supporter"

I like Android as much as I like Nokia, hell I like all the OS except for iOS.

                Good day!

AnonD-37631, 02 Mar 2012First of all GSMA should have mentioned that its £550... moreA very muted support for Nokia there...

It's interesting because I'd argue that nobody considers the Lumia range (more specifically any phones with Winmo7 on them) to be high-end... They're definitely mid-range phones... not just on specs but more importantly in functionality due to the OS still in its infancy... So even £450 is grossly over-priced for a mid-range phone...

It's interesting that that has been the only comeback from a Nokia supporter, they're so quick to jump in (see the thread about the 808 pictures, they're like kids with ADD - that goes to the Android fanboys too!) but it's noticeably quiet on this one...

I think that speaks volumes in itself...

First of all GSMA should have mentioned that its £550 inc VAT (UK and Europe Sales Tax) but without tax its only £440 which is approx $697 for the rest of the world, which is quite normal for a high end pre-order phone.

I'm sure price will come down when its released.

If Nokia is thinking to conquer the smartphone Market, by pricing their windows phone same as iPhone 4s, then god save nokia....... Nokia should know that they are not giants in the smartphone markets now, and they have to compete with all the dual and quad core beasts, released by other manufacturers...... So if they want their plan A to succeed then they should price their gadgets competitively........ By seeing the price of Lumia 800& 900, I doubt that nokia wants to kill symbian, I think their main plan, which should be plan A+ is that have partnership with Microsoft, get some money from them in the name of promoting Windows phone7, and then kill WP7 and release a better meego and symbian phones........ Hope they keep the price of lumia 900 below samsung GS2, otherwise it will be a big fail.......

Anonymous, 02 Mar 2012WOW £530 that is way too expensive for a manufacture ... morei agree. i like Lumia's design, but i'm only able to seriously consider WP-phone when they have Windows 8 in it. by then, they might have good enough app support aswell.

babysteps, but WP is quite not there yet.

£530, for only WP7, and only 16GB storage, and only 512 MB RAM, and no sd-card-slot, and 160g plastic brick with a very uncomfortable/painful design with the too sharp corners at the top and the bottom of the phone, and only the outdated Adreno 205 gpu, and no java, and no Adobe Flash 11, and no...?
Does it have USB mass storage?
