Lets hope ASUS make a better job than they have just done with ICS on the TF101 as it has messed up a great tablet. Random reboots and hanging.

I've got an A10 for about a year. Actually the previous android in A10 was 1.6, they've updated it once to 2.1, so that we could play some games like Angry Birds., and the system is stable enough. The top reason for jumping to android 2.2 or later versions I think is the Apps2SD, however the A10 has 512MB ROM and 4GB internal storage already, it doesn't matter to install big apps without the Apps2SD. Becides, though they don't continue to update the android, but they do update maps. Consider in the price of A10 and the performances of the Transformers, I think they've done their best.

"ASUS has a good reputation for offering quick software updates for its devices"

Tell that to Asus A10 owners

anonymous, 04 Mar 2012Its good, but the main problem is most devices can't update ... moreOh that's because its not meant to!

In fact, that's the whole point with marketing:
To tell stupid consumers their shiny new phone isn't all that new anymore, and encourage them to buy newer and shinier phones every 6 months.

Its an endless cycle of faster, better, more features and then oops its outdated, time to get the next one.

And so far, it seems to be working.

Won't be long now before everyone is crying that "their device isn't up to date" and how they "lost faith in and will never support (insert favorite phone company here) again".

Yep, won't be long now. I'll be waiting on that annual event.
