22 March, 2012
You can download the Alpha release and try it out - a lot of things are working, but it's far from complete.

whatchasay, 22 Mar 2012Android is the best? Seriously? You switch from a stable ... moreWhat OS needs a restart once a week? I'd hate to have a phone with an OS like that, luckily ive got an Android and it doesnt require that.
Last OS i had that required that was Symbian.
My GS2 has NEVER gone unstable, and i often dont reboot it for weeks and months unless im updating SW.

Have yo used ICS??? Im using ICS on my GS2 (the very device im typing this on) and its VERY stable.
LOL! WP7? Oh please, its still ridiculously limited, the Lumia 800 itself is a downgrade from N9.

This means in the future its going to have a triple boot: Meego, Nemo and ICS. N9 The best.

AnonD-3367, 22 Mar 2012LOL! At the Android haters in here. This is a great thing ... moreAndroid is the best? Seriously? You switch from a stable os to one that needs restarting at least once a week. At least put wp7 on it. iOS is also much more stable than Android, but that's a whole other can of worms.

LOL! At the Android haters in here.
This is a great thing for the N9, seeing how Nokia abandond it, Android4.0 ICS is at the moment the best mobile OS around: sleek UI, highly functional and very versatile all at once, great to see it on the N9. :)

guys maybe android is not the proper os for n9 but we can consider this as an advantage for n9. think about it, two os's running in one phone and the good part is you can choose what to use.
the app lovers can also have lots of games and stuff with this port. you can have a piece of art with two os's and lots of apps.

'Putting android on N9 is like replacing a Porsche 911's engine with a toyota made, which will make it more versatile but u wont get the Porsche feel which u paid for!'

Yes, but at least they still make parts for the toyota. :D

Come one people, why should you put ICS on the Nokia N9? Meego Harmattan is made for Nokia N9 and is a extraordinary OS. I don't like it too watch ICS on the N9. Respect for the people who made it possible to run ICS on the N9, but no: the only good OS for N9 is Meego. The last update PR1.2 made it even a better device.

Why ruin an N9 with Android? That's a downgrade no Nokia deserves. That poor N9 is like a lab rat who was given cancer on purpose. :)

Putting UGLY android on N9 will not only make it just another ugly droid but also will replace its superawesone Swipe UI with Androids ugly UI!

                                  gingerbread probably will work smoothly!

Mr. K, 22 Mar 2012Wish we could get a Maemo port for Android phones *sigh* I... moreHaha, means you don't know how to use your phone.. i have never ever have ads in my notification bar.. and if you root it, even you can block in-app ads.. just shows how much you understand your phone, mate.. which is kinda nothing..

Although i have to agree that MeeGo is a better OS than Android..
