The lens supplier company are from Sunny Optical. Both Huawei & Leica indeed heavily involve in terms of designing it as well.

But the quality is still there, and improving on each updates. The RGB sensor from Mate 20 series are the best, with more matured image processing, detail wise Mate 30 series but highlights control & color pallete (not saturation) are best produced by P20 series. I think safe to say Leica tune each P/Mate series differently, applied new things & improvements, just like their actual camera (Leica CL/Q/M series).
And about the B&W sensor, they ditch it as Ultra Wide angle lens & telephoto comes along. Image consistency will differ between lenses if its applied only on the main lens.
Currently i'm very satisfied with my Mate 20 camera quality, coming from a lot of Sony Xperia flagship.

People of earth please explain to me why is a macro lens needed??
Can't a wide angle lens with autofocus do the trick with better resolution at that
Also why has the other manufacturers not invest in dedicated low light camera lenses like the TCL Plex

Maybe punch hole? I don't see it having a pop up camera maybe under display but punch hole is more likely and there is a high possibility that its photoshoped and get rid of macro camera altogether or replace it with 3x telephoto

Many products are build and tested in China.
So, basically all companies know what other have done before product's announcement.
Of course there are companies that spy on other to deliver same feature before competion finishes that.
There are cases secrets are stolen. Like projects of samsung display were stolen in 2018 and sold in China. All screens with ugly hole that are Lcd are not Samsung. They showed up couple weeks after Samsung announced this awful feature.

Not even Sony (best lenses at the moment) started from zero, they bought Minolta.
