ICS is much smotther then ginger bread but still needs somework....Ginger bread is good but not that stable...in one month atleast 4-5 crash because the apps and OS are not that compartable. The camera application crashes my tab7.7 nearly one in 5 times....same is the dolphine browser. Haven't yet used W7 so cannot comment on stability, but sure was very smooth and fun to use.

I have to say the Lumia 900 looks to be a great stop-gap until Winmo 8 (apollo) and the lifting of the spec-restrictions on Windows phones...

As a GS2 user - Windows is still not good enough an OS to jump ship just yet... but next year I can see that changing... especially if Nokia get a pureview sensor on board... and start making Windows phones a bit more 'fun'...

They're definitely one to watch... I can see them overtaking iOS in about 5 years...

Andy, 10 Apr 2012The data connection loss problem is of AT&T network, be... moreI work on another mobile carrier. Let me educate you how the network works.

Mobile Internet uses GPRS settings to connect to the network. Each mobile phones are provided w/ WAP settings that includes APN(access point names). These APN are their ticket to the worldwideweb.

Now like say for example.... we have this Carrier *GSMARENA telco*

once you bought a phone from GSMARENA telco, regardless if your in a contract or not, and you want data services included, your phone will be pre-provisioned w/ these APNs:

            ARENA INTERNET
            ARENA MMS
            ARENA CONNECT
            ARENA BUSINESS

These APNs are Generic for all type of phones. it's, again, your Ticket to the WWW.

Now..aside from the APNs your phone will be configured w/ internet profiles provided by the PHONE manufacturers to GSMARENA Telco.

Notice if you call techsupport, ask what's the APN of your Nokia Lumia, what's the APN for samsung, for HTC, for LG. They are all the same regardless who your phone manufacturer is. The difference will be seen on internet profile settings.

so...APN is your ticket to the WEB, Internet profiles provided by the PHONE manufacturers to carriers serves as how will you go to the WEB(by plane, by boat, by car).

so for data connection loss for this lumia, it's nokia's fault. it will only be the carrier's fault if you have problems w/ outgoing/incoming calls/SMS. why? if you can't make calls, that means you have no reception, no reception means no 3G/2G signals to be used for outgoing services *including internet access. That is then...we can call it a network or carrier fault.

but on the articles above, was said that those customers CAN make calls and send SMSs. they have reception, they have 3G signals, now why the hell the phone uses to use the reception if it already has APNs provisioned?

INTERNET PROFILE SETTINGS for that handset. that's what's causing it. and who provides that? Nokia, why nokia? because they manufactured the lumias. what does AT&T knows about the hardware and software of those LUMIAS? only the basic.

it's understandable why it's always the carrier that's being blamed since the customers does not know those technical stuff...

For example...i have a friend working w/ Sprint, and they recieved a lot of cancellations and complaints about the iPhone's Antenna gate issue saying that it was the network's fault. It was only rectified when apple admitted that it was Apple's fault. if apple did not admit it...until now we say it's the carrier.

i won't be able to use it since am not on stateside.

basically carriers has several Acces points configuration from multimedia messages to internet access and also for tablets and business internet.
We have APNs for specific phones specially smartphones to optimized it's internet capabilities.
however...we also have a generic APN that can bus configured to any phones ensuring that new phones on the market can use data service if it's already offered on contract or if your on a BYO plan.

Carriers avoids creating NEW APNs just for a newly released phone.

now for example...a lumia...will be using a generic APN since it's just released for example, it should work. If it fails, it might be due to Internet profile settings on the phone that the phone manufacturers provide to US, to CARRIERS.

Verbal_Criminal, 10 Apr 2012the most logical answer i can come up w/ is space managemen... moreMuch simpler than that mate, they have designed it that way to open the shell easily.
although these phones are unibody , there should be a way to open them, at least for the service personal. Polycarbonate shell, as known is single unit. so if one has to open the phone it has to be from the front, by removing the Screen (which is not that easy ofcourse). because unlike other unibody phones, nokia had a different approach. here the bezel is not elevated as its how other phones work (because nokia intended to stand out among others, probably)

Long story short, the screen has secret 'hinges' attached at one end which perfectly gets inserted into the 'grooves' of the phones body. Thus, it appears as if the glass and plastic surrounding it are 'moulded' together.

If the screen is flat (like regular phones)it would be difficult to remove/reinsert.

That said,I am skeptical, it has anything to do with the 'Ease of Swipe' funda. Actually, I expected to get more info from nokia lovers on this.
