Senseurheart Kimochi, 13 Jan 2020Drop the notch and punchole +1I think the Moto Razr has the good dimension, but it should be have enough space to avoid the notch since the notch doesn't give you a complete display/view, notch or punchole eat up the space weirdly somehow your view experience has been downgraded.

Waterproofing, compact, decent camera ois/eis, HD. That's all what people want, no need for folding, pop up, flex.. all of those are gimmiks. We want a simple phone that functions and has protections.

So always fear what Apple release, because others will follow. If Apple say bye bye to jack.. you better prepare.

Don't get your hopes up for jack. Use that USB-C to earphone, while you can.

Once Apple cuts the last cords, lightning or usb c.. Then you know other android will follow.. with no wires.

Remember how early smartphones had plastic screens as well.... Just give it sometime

The poll should have included bringing back the headphone jack. No matter how well the wireless gets, it can't compare with wired. I used Sony RX-100M3 with Galaxy S10 plus. I use LDAC codec with bluetooth, sound quality is good. But the time you hook the 3.5am jack with the same headphones, it is a new life to music.

It's an unfortunate reality considering none of us here agree with it...

All cameras are good now. So are the displays. So why not address the big issue THE BATTERY. All the tech over years changed except battery. Ok the odd hour or more each update of phone but generally charge every day job.

Updating my previous answer from previous pool.

Foldable sized phones with no foldable screen. I mean a cheaper version with two or more flat sliding screens, one behind the other when closed? See it as a cheaper version foldable screen.

Custom built smartphones as the next flashship feature. Foldable phones is not enough of a killer feature to justify higher prices, custom built maybe if you can choose desired hardware...

Possible Smartphones size reduction, foldable screens pushing collision route with smart watches size? A new kind of device?
Cheaper and improved smartphones as as a result from possible OS war between Huawei vs Google with HarmonyOS...

More VR and AR resulting from higher screen refresh rates and increased processing power. Might also have a role on desktop VR by becoming an alternative to dedicated VR hardware. VR&AR are not dead... Also not replacing each other... Both just waiting for better smartphone spec's at lower prices to move on.

Motion based energy production not only for charging but also to power smartphones to extend running time. Something like an hybrid smartphone.

Monolithic design smartphones (not new but pushing it further). Portless is possible but wireless charging needs to catch up with wired charging speeds. Along with notchless, not that I like but is becoming standard? Buttonless...or single button...Yeh why not.

Increased security of smartphones. Not only better OS, but also better and more frequent updates. This is already a major factor when choosing manufacturer.

Smartphone with increased desktop experience. Processing power, memory, storage in smartphones is already near if not above some laptops and desktops, it just needs better interaction and usability with external devices to become more partical. Remember microsoft Continuum... the prob: it was ahead of its time in 2015 and experience was just the same of a phone...

                                Bye.

I'm only exited for high refresh rate display.
Under display selfie camera is stupid because the amount of light that will reach the sensor will be lower thus making the image worse. I don't care about foldables. The screen is plasticy and gets scratch very easily (As demonstrated by JerryRig) I'm also exited for better computational photography with more better processors available.
