    Berserker, 19 Jan 2020Yeah, those days. I've replaced my mate 9 for mate 20. And... moreOh yes, the Mate 9 was really great. That was, when a Mate was still a Mate, before they started to shrink the width more and more, with Mate 10 and Mate 20...

    So I switched to a Honor Note 8, which I could get really cheap. Camera wasn't quite as good as Mate 9 or even 10, but it's truly a giant in a land of more and more liliputans! 90mm width, something achieved by no other phone!

    I held on to it until I had to switch, because the usb port was broken, so it wouldn't charge anymore. As it's a China-only device, I would have to send it in, for who knows how long.

    I wanted to go for a Mate 20X, but it was horribly overpriced wherever I looked... far more than Mate 20 Pro still. So eventually, I settled for a Mate 20 - didn't want the Pro: still less width than non-Pro, big fat notch, and curved edges. No thanks!
    Still hoping for a Mate 30X, without notch, and without rounded corners. No bloated Google spyware would be a great bonus. Come on, Huawei!

        Anonymous, 18 Jan 2020Samsung and LG have already launched 8k TV Agreed, but they're mighty expensive for now & 8k computer monitors are even rare.
        That's the reason I used "hardly any" instead of "any". Yes, 8k screens exist but 'few' at best..

        Its the initial novelty period going on, whereby even if its cheap in manufacturing, it will sell for 4x its deserved price! Sad but true.
        Remember, the time when 4k TV's used to cost above $1500? 4k by itself is just a resolution, not a measure of quality, but it was rare novelty item back then. 8k is in that "novelty" period right now.

                            The differences of how it effects the majority are too different despite a similar base.
                            Many more people would notice the part of the wall that is left uncovered. Most people wouldn't even notice the difference between 66 and 70mm right off hand. Especially more so without something to compare it to directly. And if it's too large then either way is going to be a reach and struggle for them.

                            But instead you try to defend it as a perfectly comparable analogy when it effects people completely different. It was a decent attempt. But instead of understanding that and moving on you not only were trying to cling to it...but then even assumed you needed to teach me something I'm aware of off topic to keep yourself right. Off topic because the point was your improper use of an analogy. Not what people can hold which I'm clearly aware of there being a limit. And it being different for everyone. I didn't need you to think you need to further explain that in detail because of another issue.

                                No such apps available on iOS since it is functionally challenged Stone Age OS.

                                  The two hugest ones are almost the same width, had they shrunken the S20+ and S20- with about 4% they would have had a more even spread 76, 71 and 65mm :)
