They'd need to release something well worth upgrading to. There's little benefit to upgrade from last year's models to this year's models, so whoever is in the market for a smartphone hasn't been compelled to upgrade yet.

I said it some time ago, HTC will bounce back to profitability. Give them a few months and HTC will be show the way as it always does. We're talking about Taiwan bullet-proof spirit.

HTC is destroying itself.. I was impressed with HTC one S. But they didn release it INDIA. Now i have samsung s2 even though my first choice was HTC One S(I liked S2's performance and i had thought One S is newer). Like this HTC lost many customer by lacking the knowledge of marketing.

It could have been much faster growth and turnaround for HTC, only if the company kept its customer happy. Look at all the customers in India who are still awaiting ICS update for their Sensations and Desires, their frustration goes up day by day and eventually they will leave HTC for want of better support. India is probably the biggest potential market for HTC but the company has for long ignored it with slow updates and pricey handsets. Look at Samsung how they have captured the price Sensitive Indian market and with speedier updates. At the end of the day a customer's prime concern is the kind of support he or she gets at a price point. HTC fails on all accounts, Sense will only make you happy for a month or two but in the long run its the longevity of the product and not its colorful overlay.

it is so simple. since samsung checked how to build good smartphones htc has to suffer. even if they are not better then htc is. specialy the midrangephones from samsung are pretty shitty. but they know how to build a highend phone that smokes the rest of the competition. i am pretty sure that samsungs is thinking: desing is not important. who wants design is going to buy an iphone, not a samsung. we want the customer who is looking for the best phone in points of performance. looking at the bechmarks of the sgs3 and the htc one x they are aming their goal again. the best phone out there is again a samsung. and that star is shinning so bright that alot of people which can't affort or don't want to spend to much for a sgs3 are buying phones like the ace, or galaxy r or what ever. alot of these people used to be htc customers. that is good marketing!

and that is why htc lost the contract to build the google phones. because google knows that samsung got more resources. better r&d, markting, distribution and alot of cash.

htc is a nice company but against a globalplayer like samsung they got no chance. first htc lost google to samsung and now it's customers. the result we are seeing here. htc has to find a soultion or we won't be able to buy there products in 4 or 5 years!

I'm a sales agent for a telco, and in my opinion samsung are poo. htc much have a much better build quality, more features and far fewer come back in with manufacturing or software faults. the biggest thing of all is probably the intuitive polish on the htc presentation of android compared to the play-school icon style crappy android on samsung

Samsung is the only company (besides google) that will ultimately profit from android. As soon as the SG3 is available HTC will be in trouble...
