I wonder where do they find these prices. S20 Ultra (5G version) costs $1850 where I live. However I am very happy with my one year old $750 Note 9 and purchased multiple official cases that I love :). And I love the phone, too, enjoying with the Gear VR which is not available for phones anymore.

    Thats because the S20 and S20+ dont do enough to warrant buying those devices over models, especially with those to devices being more expensive the the previous S10 and S10+.

    However, the S20 Ultra, at least on paper does! Who doesnt like the sound 108 Mega Pixels, 48 Mega Pixels, 40 Mega Pixels, a 5000 battery, 45watts of charging power, it all looks and sound impressive, and from a purely marketing point of view it sells and samsung knows that, that is very likely the strategy used with the S10e vs the S10 & S10+ as the larger more expensive flagships is where the money is, no one want to be buying a so-called flagship to have its name or spec list to look meagre or merely sound "ok" by name.

    Incomes the S20 and S20+, 12 mega pixel, 10 mega pixels, oh wait! 64mega pixels...nope, nope, nope.

            But still there is a chance that the note 20 series might get a SoC refreshment.

            I'm not saying Note 20 ultra at 1400$ is a win for consumers.
            What I'm saying is -
            I think with a new SoC + the S pen and improved camera, +50 euro is a win for consumer if you consider S20 ultra's price.

              I doubt a new SoC is going to entice the masses that is only important to some of us users of these forums and even then it will be a minority, people have actively petitioned samsung to use snapdragon processors instead of exynos, not sure how big of a petition it actually was, but still, for the majority of consumers, they wont care about the chip inside, they will care about specs and price, in my opinion of course

Many people really do love taking 8K videos from subjects that are greater than 500 meters away. Good job, Samsung! We did really ask for it!

                Obviously you never even took a minute to watch the video I gave you. Skip to 8:34 and see just how incredible the zoom of the P40 Pro is against the S20 Ultra at night. It's so far ahead, that only the P40 Pro was able to draw out some fine details in completely pitch black situations.
                The bottomline is, all of the P40 Pro's cameras will always work at all lighting situations given in every environment. Which means that ALL of its cameras are really flagship level, whereas with the S20 Ultra, there are still limitations to each of their cameras, and only the main camera would perform great in low light, ultra wide and telephoto needs to rely on Night Mode to get usable shots, but not the P40 Pro.

                Bro, Xiaomi is known for making great high-quality mid range and budget devices, and I had the same expectations for this phone, especially since people have given high remarks to them for quality. Then I got disappointed after what happened to my device. In fact, build quality is not my only main concern, as I also quite hate the limited software skin and the abnormal microphone noise cancelling algorithm on this thing (my phone literally sounds like an alien video clip when recording casually, which is not the case with my old Zenfone Max).
                Of course iPads have far superior build, but it was just more than that. The iPads still have solid software support from Apple up to this day, and it runs many new games far better than my phone could handle despite being 3 years older.
                And when we bought it from 6 years ago, it was just twice as expensive, which only indicates how well this thing has held up.
                About flagship Xiaomi products, they are simply no-go. For how much they cost, I'd rather spend my money on far more reliable brands like Samsung (not the S20 Ultra or any Exynos Galaxies) or Apple, heck even Huawei and Oppo as well. Xiaomi's flagships are simply not up to par in comparison to those brands. They should've priced them considerably lower than those high end brands in order for me to consider them. It's exactly why people only go to Xiaomi for budget to mid range phones, while Samsung and many popular big brands dominate the flagship territory.

                Dude, we haven't even seen the OnePlus 8 yet and you're already making quick assumptions and conclusions based on incomplete and likely unreliable leaks? What the freakin' heck, man!
                I'd still choose OnePlus for the software side of things, as there's simply no better software than OxygenOS right now for Android. Maybe you haven't even tried OnePlus phones at all, eh?
                Average cameras can be overcome by having GCAM software, as it literally makes every camera really good with proper optimizations to each respective devices.
                Battery life is more than decent on the OnePlus 7T Pro, and definitely much better than the S20 Ultra's even with smaller capacity. I'm definitely sure OnePlus would improve upon last year's devices and the OP8 would have even better battery life as well.

                  Besides, the images from Huawei telephoto are only good in daylight, at night it struggles and produces darker images which is expected from such a small sensor. I'd take bigger sensor anyday with better autofocus and stabilization and actually usable images without having to use night mode for telephoto.

                  Haha, you are using Redmi 5 plus, a Budget phone and complaining about quality. IPad air is 6-7 times more expensive than Redmi 5.
                  Obviously you haven't used a Flagship Xiaomi phone.
                  Xiaomi are simply offering better phone with the regular mi 10 compared to the OnePlus 8 this year. OnePlus 7t has good software experience but average cameras and battery life.
                  No such weak points for the MI 10. Heck I'd buy the ROG 2 or S10 over OnePlus 7t pro.

                    What can't I understand here? You're saying that the S20 Ultra has great zoom at any lighting condition, but you were calling me amateur for using it indoors, so who's talking bs now? Make up your mind dude.

                    2. Nah no need to make up some false statements to prove something. Even at half maximum zoom range, the P40 Pro has better zoomed photos up until 30x, where most users would be maxing out at zooming before the quality starts to become unusable. And if you're simply talking about zoom, then you better wait for the P40 Pro+ to crush the S20 Ultra so badly, given how well the P40 Pro holds up against the S20 Ultra.

                    3. OnePlus 7T Pro offers superb software experience that's by far even better than Google's Pixels. I don't wanna waste my money on Xiaomi again, because my current Redmi 5 Plus is experiencing severe screen burn in after 2 years of use despite being an IPS LCD (great at avoiding screen retention). Even my old trusty iPad Air 2 took 3 years to start having screen issues.

                    4. Not only does Exynos offer underwhelming performance and thermals for a flagship SoC, the fact that it is priced similarly to the Snapdragon variant makes it a bogus decision to get it, and Samsung definitely needs to get sued for this. This is treating people unfairly across different regions.

                    5. More like you just didn't want to see the real life samples at all. Why would he promote Huawei in a Samsung video? He only highlighted the improvements after the camera update, and it clearly STILL has the same focusing problems, just improved from completely unusable to barely usable. How tf does that have to do with being a Huawei fanboy for how a smartphone camera behaves? He even tried a suggested trick to get the camera to focus continuously in videos, and it only helped a little, but not enough to completely eliminate the main issue. And I'm making this a big deal since last year's S10 and Note 10 series, and even the older Galaxies, had no such issues at all, and it's the thought that Samsung would make this as good as before, but they didn't.

                          S20 ultra is the best zoom camera on market irrespective of lighting conditions.
                          You can't really see huge difference in details indoors since you are limited by distance.
                          Outdoors, is where you'll be able to see difference against distant objects. You are not gonna zoom at distance of 30 feet to measure 10x zoom quality but you are gonna be zooming for details at 1000 meters to check real zoom quality.

                          2) Even phones with 3x optical zoom will give decent quality images when zooming indoors coz of the short distances , so is that 3x optical zoom phone better than Huawei, Samsung, Oppo providing 5x,10x? they all suck when they are outdoors trying to capture distant objects and their quality detoriates sharply. So outdoor landscape is perfect to test real zoom quality.
                          S20 ultra shines in zoom irrespective of lighting conditions. You can't beat the big IMX 586 sensor for zoom shots. And images aren't the only thing. Videos are simply superior out of that periscope lens compared to any other phone on the market.

                          3) I am getting the Find X2 pro as well.
                          Better save some money to get the MI 10. That is great value for money instead of OnePlus 7t pro. OnePlus 7t pro is so last year. It can't compete with 2020 flagship.
                          Which phone are you using now?

                          4) I have already mentioned in my post that Heating and throttling issues are limited to Exynos.

                          5) Everyone knows that Danny Winget is a Huawei brand boy. Plenty of others have confirmed that auto focus issues have been fixed. My brother upgraded to the Ultra (Exynos variant). So I know what I'm tlaking bout.

There were videos on YouTube which tech reviewers has compared the two variants side by side. and you can see the differences immediately. For me I have used various brands of Android phones especially Sony ,LG and Samsung and I can tell you , Sony and LG which uses Snapdragon chipset still performs better even after a year yet Samsung phones starts to crack in battery and performance around the same time. It's atrocious they expect Users in Europe and Asia market to pay more compared to the US and China counterpart yet we get an inferior chipset. I

                                Yeah everyone's getting it but not me. I am still good with my note 9 and I do not want anymore Samsung phones that comes with the Exynos chipset. Unless Samsung launches the upcoming Note 20 with a Snapdragon variant in my country , otherwise I would probably switch to Sony One Mark 2( Which has the headphone jack) or an iPhone. I don't believe in paying so much for a crappy battery hungry chipset ,not anymore at least .

                                  Yes, my hands are shaky, so I tried to lay it on a stable surface and get it as stable as possible, and the same results are still in.
                                  Reviewers themselves already made the point, that the 100x is barely usable, if at all, in terms of pure resolved detail, and is only good at identifying the outlines of the subject from farther away.

                                    The fact that you're trying to tell me to not use zoom at indoors is basically as good as saying that the phone's camera system is disappointing, which is further expanding my point rather than disproving it.

                                    2. Zoom is best tested at outdoor landscapes? So users must always go outside just to maximize their highly-bragged feature? It only goes to say that it's true for the S20 Ultra to have horrible camera system.

                                    3. Me? I would love to, if I had the money to do so. But no thank you, I'd rather get the Find X2 Pro or Xperia 1 Mk II for the same price, or maybe save up some cash for the older OnePlus 7T Pro (great value for money).
                                    You can find a lot of reviews in YouTube from people who have used the phone as a daily driver for more than a month, and they would all agree to what I'm truly saying.

                                    4. Exynos provides flagship level of performance for only a certain period of time before throttling and going down to mid range level. Snapdragon can sustain its superior performance for very long periods of time, and it would ALWAYS perform like a true flagship SoC at all times, regardless of how heavy the task is. Samsung is scamming people for asking the same exact price for an overall inferior experience, and it's so bad enough that they could actually get sued for it.

                                    5. They are NOT fixed, just improved. Danny Winget showed that even after the update, the camera still struggles to identify subjects and lock focus quickly and actively. There are even times when it wouldn't focus at all no matter how hard he tries to do so. A hardware-related issue cannot be fixed by a simple software update, admit it or not.
                                    No, this phone also has other camera issues, but I'd rather not talk about them instead. You can find them on the internet anyway.
