The specs that will finally make me quit headphone jack.

Overall specs of Drop x THX Panda headphones
      BT 5.2
Supports LDAC and all AptX codecs

ZolaIII, 29 May 2020Well if Adaptive AptX gets significantly better than LDAC (... moreThe DAC are only used to be the endpoint to your headphones or speakers to your ears. The SoC synthesize the digital sound, and is sent to the bluetooth RF conversion stage, to be sent to your earbuds, when an DAC converts the digital to analog audio.
"Bluetooth internal DAC" is a incorrect concept.

And I don't know what you guys think, but I'm starting to fear the future... Smartphones are somehow becoming ''oversmart'' and corporations are getting full support and in fact a push from governments as well!

Now, new markets will be created,
like smaller bluetooth headphones, and maybe years later we'll have ones that match wired ones in quality. Though, except for audiophiles with other devices, no one will actually know what quality means,
like liquid nitrogen cooling for smartphones, something you'll be able to fill at home or buy to make your smartphone run cooler with all this mounting tech... just to run a phone with super background services in priority,
like insane intrusion stuff like oneplus 8 pro's see thru camera,
like 5 kinds of satellite location trackers (GPS, Glonass, Beidou, etc, etc), other trackers apart from this (network triangulation, etc), and more on the way maybe...
like bluetooth and wifi remaining active even when they're specifically told by user to be off,
like bigger batteries and bigger size risk with them,

I wish we could stop time at Snapdragon 865 for some years... We should stop the progress. I'm sure not all will agree but we don't need all this to happen.

"" Bluetooth audio can go up to 96 kHz, which the company believes will deliver quality equivalent to wired headphones. ""

Wow... so now, resolution is equal to quality. Means hearing more sounds per second means better sound, or as the artist intended.... Of course, why not, we're just a bunch of fools, we'll admit that to be correct.
That's why the entire high megapixel = better quality propoganda is done too.

Instead of trying to achieve higher SINAD, they're just maintaining distance from proper audio players for marketing reasons, and fooling customers with such statements...

A proven flagship like LG G7 or V40 ThinQ doesn't sell much due to such marketing crap.
Half the companies spitting out words like "Great audio quality" don't even try to achieve it with their heart.
Qualcomm isn't even trying, to be honest. Snapdragon 625 was one of their good efforts at audio quality, that too because its' lower mid range.

With aptX Adaptive, Bluetooth audio can go up to 96 kHz, which the company believes will deliver quality equivalent to wired headphones.

Gaming PC's are in a totally different league.
The GPU power of the latest SD865 SoC with it's SD650 GPU, is on par with a mid-range GPU (NVidia GT510 Ti) from 2011 or a high-end GPU (AMD HD 5870) from 2009.
The strongest yet smartphone GPU, the A13 from Apple, is equivalent to the Laptop GPU NVidia MX150 (from 2017). The desktop version of this chip is the NVidia GT1030 (a cheap 70euro low-end display adapter, from 2017).

But considering the Asus Rog 3 and s... moreGreat progress, but it's impossible to put great cooling solution in smartphone for that extremely powerful chipsets. Also battery will be very big problem to. Smartphones are better and better, but u can't compare them with computers.

Well if Adaptive AptX gets significantly better than LDAC (both @ 96KHz 24 bit) & wide available it might have some future, by the way BT 5.0 already have enough bandwidth for this. LDAC in high mode (96/24) deaps to 98 dB SINAD but that's still a bit more than CD quality (44100 Hz 16 bit) with more than dubled bandwidth of course. QC needs to improve their BT SoC integrated DAC's so that claims of "audio quality" could have any sense.

The US is a total mess when it comes to a lot of segments in technology, and I kinda dislike it still dictates new developments.
Like .... The world gets 6GHz WiFi equipment because US regulators approved it's use domestically. That's f***ed up ....

A good example is the ultra low power laptops. Check the iQOO Neo 3 vs any laptop with the Intel i5-1035G1. Performance-wise they are not so far apart. Phone screens can be 144 Hz, above that its not really a thing unless you are a pro gamer.
The software side is still missing tho. Windows and Linux has a huge history and won't be overtaken by android or iOS anytime soon. I guess if we keep on pushing we can get a x64 emulator running for full desktop experience. ARM is overtaking the low end as we speak.
