      Meltemi is just like Meego.
Both are used a platform to try thing out.
Symbian OS's UI developed from idea generated through Meltemi and Meego.

I believe there's reason why Symbian is chosen over those 2 linux based OS.

btw Symbian is such good OS that non stop developing
      .
What's outdated is just not sufficient Application which peoples nowadays prefer more.

"More affordable Windows Phone devices like the Nokia Lumia 610 are also in the pipeline." with less features than even an S40 device. Gosh does he has any vision at all? By the end of the year he will sell the company to MS, after all this was his primary objective -- cheap bucket of patents for MS. This is what is left from NOKIA. I wonder what the EU commission is doing at the moment. Maybe enjoying their summer vacation...

what is this OS? i never heard of it. it is much better if they revived meego as their high range OS and lower the price of symbian phones and turned it as their budjet phones.

          right?

I'd never even heard of this OS. S40 remains fine for featurephones, and by the look of things it works pretty well for touch too.

guess that MS is very scared of any Nokia smartphone OS that could eventually be more successfull than WP.
Why do I speak om MS... well its quite clear by now. Either elop is just plain stupid, and did not understand the meaning of milestone products... and even if that were so, how would WP improve on the situation (starting from 0 milestone products, and with MS limiting on what could be done). Or his plan all along was to form a partnership with MS.... But that still proves how clueless they were, since they somehow thought that just because nokia made the mobiles, they would reach sales figures in the single or doubble zero regin.

MS was clearly in on this... seems like since day one of Elop at the top and probably even before (lets guess they either bribed or fooled the nokia board, with financial promises).
Since nokia, since has trhown out every other smartphone platform... and prematurely as well...

Nokia is so dead. 1st MeeGo and now Meltemi. Series 40 and windows will not keep it alive for a long time...
