People's hands tend to hold devices/phones close to the centre of gravity of said device. In both portrait and landscape orientation.

This is where this argument started.
I said that holding it with two hands made no difference (open vs. closed) - which is an obvious conclusion.
I also said that, contrary to the reviewer's statement, one-handed hold would be more difficult for the open form Mate Xs vs. the closed form.
I presented my argument for this conclusion, and I based it on sound science.
I also provided an easy experiment, that anyone can do, to prove my point.
What else can I do to prove my point?

I... moreHonestly, a strange discussion that can be found here. I would expect it on a different forum.
Even so, I would take sides against you. Your calculation seems to be accurate, but for a wrong problem. It doesn't really take a structural engineer to see how it fails in logic. A smartphone is hardly ever held in such a position.
I would also agree with "Sandro" on what you called torque in your little sketch. It should read bending moment.
A doctorate, by definition, does not prove you right. Perhaps you should reconsider your post.
