Multi core processor on Windows Phone 8 will run circles around Android just like single core on WP are doing. Go check the demo of Windows RT, that thing blows away any Android tablet in speed. Windows Phone 8 will do the same.

Android are the winners as they will get the Nvidia tegra 4 quad core cortex a15. Windows phone 8 is finished before its even started. Nvidia have the architectural rights to ARM which means they will be able to bring out in the future 8 core 3.5 ghz cpu's together with their 64 to 128 cuda core GPU'S. By 2014 they will have a GPU that will destroy anything that any competitor could conjure up. Qualcom said themselves that our products are only for the entry level devices and they cannot compete with Nvidia so it is obvious Windows phone 8 is going to be a failure.

idk if its a good upgrade...no matter if multi core cpus are introduced. wp ran smooth even with 800 mhz cpu. it does not need more. whht we do with that power? apps are not like android and ios where you need a good cpu and gpu... or maybe developers will do this. if they do then wp will be more powerful than ios and android...wp will become a monster but it doesn't make sense if you can' use its full power!

To all people saying the MS said that multi-core is a waste of battery, it's true. But they didn't said that they can't optimize their OS to use multi-core CPUs more efficiently.. But only if a company doesn't know what they're doing, multi-cores will be a waste... IE Google's Android.. Like I said before, Google should hire the guys from Linaro since they know more how to optimize the hardware.. Microsoft has been in the OS business for some decades now.. Now that MS is only focused in one OS at a time (Windows 8), things will be better.. We'll see.
PS: People should start appreciating the technology around them, and stop this fanboyism...

I also have a Galaxy S2 which seems faster than the One X at loading Youtube videos. At home, I've got a 3.3ghz 6-core processor on my computer and it still bogs down when I'm starting Firefox, just like my 1.8ghz dual-core laptop. More does not mean more, at least not today!

For now it's only qualcom.we can't say that tegra or omap will never power wp 8 devices.
It's bcoz snapdragon is the only one that has cortex 15 comparable arcitechture with 28 nm chip.it's the most advanced till now.
Omap is expected to come up with cortex a 15 cpus at the end of q3 this year therefore u might see them in 2013 in wp devices.

So.. the PureView is a no-go on these devices right (41Mpix sensor vs. the 20Mpix max capability)?
Then there is the upgradeablity issue - will those new WP8 devices be eligible for WP9 upgrade or will they get the cold Lumia treatment?
I really like the Metro UI but I won't even concider WP (any version) until it's evolution gets stable. The Lumia 900 not powerful enough for an upgrade? Tell me MS is joking!

Hahahaha few days back microsoft n intel were bashing android off by saying dual cores n quad cores r waste for a phone n android cant handle it as the chipset companies producing chips for android phones cannot clock it properly matched to its OS n today they hav announced their OS will get dual n quad cores by same companies which manufactures same chips for android... Is microsoft trying hard to say that they r superior than android coz they can handle everything??? Well market stats r in front of everyone where WP cant even touch the feets of android n they want to climb up above the head of droids.... FUNNY.... MICROSOFT, CLOSE YOUR WINDOWS OTHERWISE ANDROID WILL ENTER THROUGH IT AND DESTROY ALL YOUR HOUSE...

i own s3 now..some features is my reason..but os cant amaze me much..im trilld with this wp...run smoothly in single core, now in dual..? hmmm...im thrilld...show me more features, and i will throw my s3 toy...
