Well all its interesting but problem is even the casio for 5 bucks which shows day and time have much more battery life than apple or samsung watches for 400-600 bucks.
And the smartwatches with their tiny screen are good only for date and time anything else is birden because typing on a such a small screen is dissaster.

I think this article made a great disservice by failing to mention the Apple iPod Nano, when people in California/Silicon Valley started wearing them as watches.
I liked the three different form-factors: circle (best looking), square (largest screen), band (most comfortable). Though my favorite was the Original Huawei Watch. Later it was the Samsung Frontier. And now I think the latest Apple Watch might be the best option.
What I'm waiting for is touch-interactive holograms, that will project from your wrist-bands and to the inside of your palms. That will kill smartwatches, phones, and foldables.

After having used both: I prefer a circle watch. I do think it is objectively superior, and no I'm not the guy you were referring to. There's just many more types of watchfaces it can match with. And with more variations of wrist straps too. Afterall, a smartwatch should be a men's fashion accessory first, and a companion second. (women have many more options/versatility when it comes to fashion and accessories, and usually a watch is lower on that scale).

Love my Galaxy Watch 1st gen! New in the box, it costed me $120!
I use it for daily work track, sleep track, heart rate monitor, etc.
But solely for sleep tracking only in this pandemic era.

I'm not interested in smartwatches because of their high prices and limited features but so far my favorites are
LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition
Smasung Gear S3 Frontier
Samsung Galaxy Watch
Huawei Watch GT2
These are solely based on design preference because all watches are quite limited in functionality

Y'all remember the 2014 scam called Moment Smartwatch?? It had 2200 people pledge nearly $450.000 for it and then the company went silent two years later. Go read the comments on the Kickstarter page, it's a disaster.

But that is whole point of smart band and watch.... to show info from phone without taking it out from pocket...
Actually whole point of trying to push whole phone to watch with 1.5inch screen is just stupid and useless. What is the point of such device that not only is annoying to use but also require charging every 20H?
Smart Band is best solution, because it provide all those features that people need: notifications, sport and health info, basic things like timer and calendar.
My smartband that cost me like 40 euro can do everything and I need to charge it once a week, it even have gps... So what is the point of jamming battery hungry android system to small device that barely can live for a day?

I guess all of those companies' research and development teams are inferior to what's basically a literal nobody who makes blog-length posts in a comment section.
