Last time I researched this (can't be arsed to make the effort anymore) Apple and Samsung were tied together in a contract that neither of them could break.Apple accounted for just 1% of Samsungs annual turn over,so they could quite happily show Apple the door and barely notice that they were gone.
The reason they use Samsung is because they're the best at what they do and no one else can meet their quality control standards,delivery times or quantities in the way Samsung can.They are NOT a partnership but are contractually obliged to supply Apple with parts.
I'm on my third Samsung handset now in 4 years and have never suffered from this "random restarts" that are mentioned,can you show evidence for this please?

Samsung have never stolen anything from anyone,how can you steal a basic geometric shape that dates back about 10,000 years,predating even the mighty Apple? Samsung had success with the Galaxy phones because people DIDN'T want an iPhone and DID want the choice to not be the prisoner of a locked down operating system,they like the idea of the freedom Android gives them.
Oh and the stuff they patent...........they designed in the first place and haven't just bought it from the guys who actually did the hard work.

well if samsung were clever they would stop production of chips that go in the iphone. if samsung keep getting take to court surely sort your head out sammy, its simple stop supplying the person who is suing you. simples.

Apple has no obligation to go elsewhere for parts
they have the power and money and they can make their own hardware even better
this proves the point,
Samsung uses the same chip in their own phones as Apple
then why Samsung phones needs random restarts and iphone never needs to be restarted. Apple is King and Samsung is just an ordinary phone maker

Apple lack the speedy of developing new phone and lose the profit, and that's why they try to make all sorts of trouble of Samsung. Stop stirring up, Apple you are trouble maker.

But if only they stop pr... moreIf apple pulls out of partnership with samsung , samsung is going to become another blackberry , nokia , htc stuggle company all the cash income major money they getting is through apple my friend. Its more of a loss to samsung then to apple , also apple does not compromise on quality so wont hold my breath on samsung processor being only option or the best option , its all about the money and R&D which requires $$$$ apple has that plenty of in store that is why bought shares in sharp , pushing for there own displays slowly but surely will phase out samsung completely.

They copy other sruff from others and chance a bit and patent it self.
They get finacial support from the goverment (it's not fair for the competition) no obne care abut that, but if Microsft do than always somebody crying.
Respect to Apple, becouse Samsung succes with their galaxy is 100% thanks copying from Apple desing.
Other companys should support Apple against those theft of Samsung.

Samsung isn’t just “Samsung,”- it’s a massive, multi-national conglomerate made up of more than 30 INDEPENDENT businesses. So while Samsung Electronics Company LTD (smartphones department) gets its pants sued off, another (it's like a free agent) wheels and deals with Apple at the very same time. And it's not only CPUs - same thing goes for Apple's Retina Display, which is being made by Samsung Mobile Display, one of the Samsung's other independent departments. As you can see it's quite complicated, so I wouldn't expect Samsung to stop making parts for Apple anytime soon.

Check here Apple count on Samsung and they don't want the relationship to be affected despite of the lawsuits.
Apple need Samsung and Apple know they will never find better chips like Samsung's.

Yeah, like Samsung could ever give up the massive profits it is making from Apple. Do you have any idea how businesses work? Such a move could potentially ruin them.
Apple would just take its business elsewhere. Any other parts manufacturer would jump at the chance. Samsung are NOT the only players in the game.

But if only they stop providing CPUs for Apple let see how can Apple survive without Samsung's CPU
They will need to team up with either Qualcomm or Tegra and both are in no place to be compared with almighty Exynos, and Apple knows that, that's why they stuck with Exynos even their new IPhone 5 will come with Exynos Quad core chip.

I'm a proud owner of Samsung T100. I bought it in 2004. Still I'm using it. I love this phone.
