28 September 2020
It's unclear if it was outed too soon or the company is revising it.

As owner of Nokia 8 Sirocco, I also would like it to be updated, especially if you consider the fact that there are only 3 flagship devices from HMD Global: Nokia 8, 8 Sirocco and 9 PureView. Not too many to justify the decision to update only one of them.

Trankiet628, 10 Oct 2020Because Nokia 7 Plus already got 2 major updates (Android 8... moreI don't buy your argument. You are saying about two version not two years. If i have 2 years of updates then I assume that someday my phone will have everything that was available at release date + 2 years. Not at release date + 1,08 year (because first update was at first month and second update was one year later). If you are providing 2 updates then say it as two updates not two years.
Take another example. If you buy streaming service because they marketing materials said you can watch movies for 30 days, then you would fell really cheated if they stop your service at 15 day after you watched 30 movies because they assumed that 1 move = 1 day. Just be honest with your marketing or if you screw up your message then do what is right and give updates up the end of 2nd year.

When apple supports their devices for 5 year they don't stop upgrading after 5th iOS version.

Asghar, 01 Oct 2020Why Android 11 isn't scheduled for Nokia 7 Plus..? Because Nokia 7 Plus already got 2 major updates (Android 8 (initial) > Android 9 (1st major update) > Android 10 (2nd major update)) and still receiving security updates until 2021. HMD Global provides 2 years of major updates and 3 years of security updates for their Android smartphones.

Given the fact that 7 Plus was plagued by faulty usb connectors AND a big batch of them were delivered with a very very VERY bad screen that had to be replaced AAAAND that it's still a better, more capable phone than most of the newer ones they keep spitting out, it would only be fair if HMD would update 7 Plus to Android 11 as well.. as a peace offering. If not, I'm not buying any more Nokia phones in the future.

Asghar, 01 Oct 2020Why Android 11 isn't scheduled for Nokia 7 Plus..? Nokia 7 plus was released with android 8 it got android 9 and then android 10. That is pretty much the end of the road for system.updates. it will receive only maintanance and security updates from now on.

Why Android 11 isn't scheduled for Nokia 7 Plus..?

My Nokia 8.1 is bug free, with monthly security updates, and started on Android 9 & looks to be getting Android 11 in Q4. I have no complaints and will be happy to stay with HMD (Nokia) when I eventually have to upgrade..... I don't imagine I will get Android 12 but you never know and I will still get security updates anyway for at least another 15 months.... All smiles from me.

I'm si done with HMD, Q2 for Nokia 7.2 ? Whats the point to have Android one label

It looks like Android One is not a good strategy. OEMs are abandoning it, or issue very late/buggy major updates. I know I wouldn’t want to be stuck with an Android One phone. Yikes!

ingride luke kabs, 29 Sep 2020Now how about we who are using Nokia 6.1 plusYeah I think that's it for the 6.1 Plus. I know the 6.1 isn't getting Android 11.
