Boggy-Stefy, 10 Nov 2020Here I am. Lol. Technically I didn't say people do no... moreWith a 4.7" or 5.4" you can perfectly use facebook, instagram, take photos, listen to music, whatsapp etc. If it's better with 6.7" of course it is you can see better.
The thing is, for people with smaller hands, for people who want a practical phone to put in their pocket but still powerful, a 5.5" is the sweet spot.
You can see perfectly well and use all the features. The only downside is less battery life but today really you have powerbanks everywhere, charger in the car, charger at work etc and in 20-30min you have 60-70% charge so that's not a big issue...

I understand, you have a small tablet but you also use it like a phone hahaha

Nothing New, 10 Nov 2020it is not about sales because sales=/= quality and i meant ... moreIf you compare phones yearly the upgrades are tiny with everyone. But usually people who buy new phones are coming from 2-3 years old devices and suddenly there's lot of new. So again new iPhones aren't anymore "disappointing" than new phones every year. You just look them lot more personally because you are writing here and are Interested about stuffs, it already means you aren't typical person buying smartphone these days.

It's good thing to come out of the tiny tech bubble once a while. I mean just look the two best selling phones in the list. People just don't care the stuff which we talk about.

Not everyone is trying to seek approval for the phone they use. When iphones get updates all supported devices get updates world wide at the same time no matter the carrier or country. On Android Samsung even same model phone has different processor in different regions and even with same processor some carrier models get updates sometimes after a year or sometimes no updates at all. When apple updates ios version all big developers usually update their apps quickly to support new operating system features android 11 is out but lastpass still doesn't have inline autofill feature that's implemented in android 11 while 1passsword supports this. When this was introduced in ios developers immediately updated their apps. You can android has roo many devices and thus takes time for every app to get updated to new features but to end user it doesn't matter if newer version of operating system offers me better features and convince but still like to keep my phone for at least 3 years without having to feel like waiting for updates .if iphone 11 in 2 two years from now supports ios16 it will get same time as iphone 14 or whatever released that year but galaxy s10 won't get android 12 same time as s21 or whatever samsung releses that year

What DroidBois need to know is that people aren't looking at a specific brand when they buy a phone, they are looking for any phone that fits their needs.

Another reason why marketshare doesn't matter at all.

Technically I didn't say people do not want compact phones, but I said they are useless. At least for me and for other people like me. Who uses the phone all the time.
I had a 4" display phone. It was good, because I didn't use it for anything else, just phone calls, WhatsApp and music listening.
Now, I use my current phone (6.5") also for Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, web browsing, occasional movie, etc. I couldn't do that on a sub 6" display. At least not in a good and pleasant way.

Wily2020, 10 Nov 2020Just like this shows, people are only willing to buy cheap ... moreBut iphone 11 and iphone SE are not high end phones either.
Thus being said, flagship phones are worthless anyway these days. The difference between a 1000EUR phone and a 500EUR is not that big, like it was some time ago. And a lot of things from the flagship phones make their way on the mid-range phones.

Wily2020, 10 Nov 2020Just like this shows, people are only willing to buy cheap ... moreHere's a piece of logic - there are at least a dozen android flagships-flagship runner uppers coming out every year for the past 4 (maybe more) years, low to mid range devices are at the point that a the most overused msm8x74 phones is reviled by current year low to mid range devices. Most people need a phone with a decent camera, enough ram to keep open 10 chrome tabs and ability to open 5 more, access fb/twitter/random social media app and a note app + a camera app on occasion, a screen you can see in direct sun light, a case that protects the screen on drop and battery life for 2 or more days (i'm not even gonna add the things that were normal in nokia 3310 days). All these reviews are by reviewers for reviewers (circle jerk?) or people who want a good phone for 4 or more years. In school i was the only one in a class of 30 people with a micro usb otg cable, in collage i was 1 of 10 in my degree with it. The iphone is a "seeking for approval" statement if not just a marketing gimmick. Also comparing iphones to droids is like comparing a country to a planet.

Not surprising though but curious if sales will change with new iphones since they are disappointing

iPhone SE was the second most sold phone with 10 million units! Where are the people who say compact powerful phones suck and people don't want them?

iPhone SE has a small 4.7" screen by today's standards. The 12 Mini is 5.4, is gonna sell much more...by the millions.

Why Android brands are not giving us compact flagships too?

Just like this shows, people are only willing to buy cheap Android phones. The effort Apple haters put in every Apple articles bashing Apple they should use that same energy to try to get people actually buy those "superior" Android phones they keep telling about. Because this is really sad. Android owns over 80% share and they don't find enough people to one high end phone to sell 6 million? :D

I‘m not sure if the iPhone 12 will be able to top the 11, because it is much more expensive than what the 11 costed when it came out.
