Apple is able to do since they have worked with pretty much the same design and software over a decade. Oneplus hasn't been out as long, but for what they are now, I see it happening sooner rather than later 👍

I doubt the phones will be flagship killers. But will have reasonable specs and good software hopefully. Software is actually really important. That's why pixels are good. I wish xiaomeme had good software

Then we have Google Pixel which have been complete flops due to their bad designs and high price. And now we have oneplus, worst performing BBK subbrand by far, got good mind share among enthusiasts, but that doesn't translate to sales.

Nowadays, unless you really need a specific type of hardware every phone above around $300 has good enough hardware such that 99% of people won't notice any difference. What they do notice is the difference between good software and bad software, and Oneplus have perhaps the best android skin. That is what makes their phones good nowadays, not just a list of specs that you can barely see the effect of in the real world.
