SShreyas, 12 Dec 2020The device was HTC One M9+, itwas one of the very first dua... moreYou can't have a propre conclusion with HTC only one device.

The problem is HTC makes wrong choice (it's often the case with HTC!) : QHD screen with X10, it's a big mistake.
So I'm not very surprised in fact. You must be right on this one.
Your mistake was to choose a device with both X10 And QHD!
X10 runs fine on Xperia M5 for exemple.
Even mt6752 with A53 only clocked up to 1.7ghz runs fine on Xperia C4 and litteraly destroys Snapdragon 615 (Lenovo Vibe if I remember)

And you spit on Cortex A53? Are you serious? Qualcomm still using Cortex A53!
For your information, all Kryo 2xx Silver are Cortex A53. On Snapdragon 636, 660, 835, 632...or even on newer 665 or 662...it's old big.LITTLE.
For your full information, name change with ram's pipeline
Kryo 250 on 632 : lpddr3
Kryo 260 on 636/660/662/665 : 2x16bits lpddr4x
Kryo 280 on 835 : 4x16bits lpddr4x
Naming is only...marketing, it's Cortex.
In fact, the only real custom Kryo cores were used on...Snapdragon 820, all the others are mostly copied/pasted Cortex. (Kryo 3xx are A75+A55, Kryo 4xx are A76+A55, Kryo 5xx are A77+A55, new DynamIQ architecture instead of big.LITTLE)

On the other side, after P60 and P70, Mediatek no longer use big.LITTLE but DynamIQ since Helio P65...665 or 662 are old stuff when their competitors (G70/80) are more modern.
DynamIQ needn't cluster migration when system switch between LITTLE and big cores.

And please tell me the names of the devices with P60 and Snapdragon 636 you were talking about? I seriously doubt...it's nearly impossible, worst process, worst frequency, worst memory bandwidth on 636. P60 nearly reachs 660 level (GPU is maybe a little weaker but not that much)

Anonymous, 12 Dec 2020Try some for real instead! You don't even name devices! The device was HTC One M9+, itwas one of the very first dual camera smartphones, the biggest gimmick I fell for.
And it is a simple understanding that if I am talking of a CPU, then definitely I'll refrain myself from referring any other manufacturer/product, unless I am specifically asked about it.

And the real world experience (at least, mine) of MediaTek has anyways forced to refrain from purchasing it. I have already wasted my INR 40k on it. I would have got a OnePlus 8 for the same money in 2020, and this is before adjusting inflation.

        No more MediaTeks for me.

SShreyas, 11 Dec 2020Huh. I have used "flagship" chipset of MediaTek... moreX10 isn't a real flagship as it only uses Cortex A53, not any big core...
Before Dimensity 1000, Mediatek released only 2 flagship : mt6595 and Helio X30

You can't critisize Mediatek when at same time Qualcomm's released :
          - Snapdragon 410 : makes Cortex A53 slower than Cortex A7
          - 615 : makes octacore slower than quadcore...you only have to use mt6752 to compare, very funny.
          - 808/810 with heavy throttling issues as Qualcom used Cortex A57 for benchmarks when Mediatek and Kirin didn't and refused to sell failling chips to consumers!

And about P60, I use it on Oppo A3 during a year on a half, as fast as my sister's Mi A2 with SD660

Always the same ideas about sources : you've got Google search? in a few seconds you can find tons of sources...nearly all from Oppo's, Realme's, Redmi's, Nokia's, Sony's available in western countries

We can speak about hidden problems of more recent Qualcomm's chip :
          - no 5g carrier aggregation on Snapdragon 865. You will spend years waiting for a descent mmwave coverage. During that time even Dimensity 700 will get a faster 5g!
          - lack of AV1 support on Snapdragon 888, Qualcomm want you to pay more for your streaming!

SShreyas, 11 Dec 2020Huh. I have used "flagship" chipset of MediaTek... moreBingo that explains everything..

I have used "flagship" chipset of MediaTek, the Helio X10. My phone literally used to respond after 15 minutes. And that was my first and last MediaTek of my life. Can't trust that sh**hole brand again.
I purchased a "lower" quality, but far more reliable Snapdragon 636 over P60, that too, after paying almost 6,000 (USD 80) bucks extra. And I am proud of my choice for my cousin is having problems with his P60 powered device.

4G arrived a few years ago and now 5G.. Yeah these MNCs are greedy. Bring new technology and milk money.. For example, if a user doesn't use Internet and only makes and recieves calls, in that case 2G is more than enough for him. Why would he need 4G or 5G to make calls only. 4G signals emit a lot of radiation and 5G will emit even more radiation it is already proven also as the distance increases, the signal deteriorates with 5G. Trust me, I will use only 2G and 4G for as long as it is available. I don't want any sane person to get 5G. This is new world order driven by Covid and 5G. Try to understand.

Note 8 Pro was an immensely popular device, though, most of MediaTek's devices do not have any considerable amount of support from devs. And this is in stark contrast to Snapdragon.

Anyways, I'd anyday prefer a Snapdragon over MediaTek for most of the MediaTek's chipset are too unreliable. They simply cease to perform after 2-3 years and all you have is touch-one-and-wait-forever sort of experience

Most importantly, MediaTek never disclose its sources. So, for a developer and all those people who can't afford or don't want to buy a new one every two years, won't go for it. (Though, very few people have that knowledge)

All because the "Pro" model of the redmi note 9 5g/ xiaomi 10i

Im sounding like a fan boy at this point but I just can't get over the fact that the 800U is leagues/generation ahead of the 750G interms of thermals/heating

I'm talking 6 degrees cooler especially when you think of mediateks reputation of overheating, the gpu is stronger too

Cpu is better on 750g though but thermal control should be praised seriously
