not this less is "more" again. im not gonna buy a chargerless phone just like i dont buy a headphone jack-less one. unless the difference in price is acceptable.
if they so concerned about environmental reasons, maybe they should start recycling and renewable energy bussiness. maybe making nuclear-powered smarphone so we dont need to charge anymore till it go kabooom

I looked up two cases of recent redmi explosions, xiaomi just said one was by 'external forces', and the other 'already damaged physically'.
And an older one of redmi note 4, same case 'external force'. No mention of accusing customer of third party charger usage. Maybe there are some i dont know of.
Anyway, good thing that they are giving a charger free as an option then.

Catani84, 29 Dec 2020Well people are not too bright. The phone starts at 500 usd... moresharing 2-3 chargers with whole family doesn't make sense. I have wait in line so that I can charge my phone. Not to mention by using other charger I will be harming the current battery lifespan. Using 3rd party charger will also void warranty about ant battery issue.
No company will ever reduce the price because they are not giving charger brick.

Step 2. After a few days, have a change of mind, and stop supplying chargers yourself... Easy.

Sharing, 28 Dec 2020The rumoured price was $700. Official starting price is $61... moreWell people are not too bright. The phone starts at 500 usd which is an amazing price for a full on flagship. And I guarantee you that whoever buys a 500$ phone has chargers laying around the house. It's not 2010 anymore. Your phone charges in an hour or less. You can share 2 or 3 charges with the whole family. People are just ignorant and don't realize that theoretically this is a good thing. If they shrink the price because of the charger removal I'm all for it.

So warranty for charging damage can be treated as default voided unless you show them you have a charger from them.
Easy to screw customers.
