Mike, 31 Aug 2012That is why I am trying to avoid android product and samsun... moreIf you think iOS is versatile then why didnt they port Siri in iphone 4, 3GS? Because the main attraction of iphone 4S was Siri. If they made available for older device then 4S selling would be few, just a marketing trick by Apple.

what are the specs for the jelly bean update? Are there any good features or is it going to be slower than the present firmware?

Mike, 31 Aug 2012That is why I am trying to avoid android product and samsun... moreThe only issues with Android updates mainly is different devices and waiting on carriers. Apple is no saint either.
It took til the IOS update after the release of the 3GS before they integrated support for MMS. They actually have at least once released an entire OS update that was no more than a mere change of a couple lines of coding to knock out a hack and said it was an entire system update.

Not to mention that aside from certain specific features every single Idevice is practically capable of every IOS update yet many are not getting them

                  My thought....

Just saw the Samsung unpacked event online...Galaxy Note to be available on october...with 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

So, Samsung S lll owners have to wait until Oct 12' for the jelly bean update.

Cyanagenmod10 (jelly bean 4.1)for S3 looks promising..way better than touchwiz...

Samsung has to up there ante and transform twz to be something in the lines of HTC Sense

Mike, 31 Aug 2012That is why I am trying to avoid android product and samsun... moreWhy,what's wrong with having to wait a bit longer until it's 100% fully functional without any bugs? It's not as if there's anything wrong with ICS which there isn't on my GS3,the lag which seems to have irrepairably shattered so many peoples lives is about half a second at a guess and something I wasn't aware of but lived quite happily with.Unfortunately it seems to be such an issue with some people that they have lost all their friends and apparantly some men have lost all their hair and some have even become infertile (insert LOL smilie here).
My phone works perfectly without it so it's certainly not something I worry about but it will nice to see when it does get here if it's really as smooth as they say it is.

it is said by the gods that an android phone these day should receive an OS upgrade within 18months from release.

Your want. The world moves on with our Android choice. This is what we chose. This what we need. This is what we want.

That is why I am trying to avoid android product and samsung though I've been using Samsung Galaxy s.
If you look at apple even if they release any new update that will be compatiable with the old iphone 3gs but look at any android update it will outdate your 6 month phone as well.
More over apple is far more better in terms of android and their all rivals. I've Ipad2 honestly speaking I wont consider of buying any thing now other than Apple as it really gives good service and no malware virus like android.

I don't understand why everyone is in such a hurry to lose flash compatibility..it doesn't make html5 work any better, it just takes flash away.

Butter only extends to the couple of built-in menu transitions and only affects the couple 4.1 phones that manage to stutter during those simple wipes and fades.

The only other feature is Google now and data-less speech recognition (which certainly shouldn't require an entire update to add in 30mb worth of program these phones have already been using online instead of built onboard).

The other mentioned features (brightness slider, 2/4g data switch, allshare cast) have already been released to 4.0 as a maintenance update!
