New Sony Media apps won't come to the 2011 Xperia range

However, the 2012 Xperia line-up will receive the new Media apps as part of a software update.

        not a problem,the masters in xda will be able to be in rescue for mini,ray and the others not a big deal!;)

          I already have all NXT 2012 applications (Walkman,Movies,Album,Dialer,Lockscreen etc) on my Xperia Neo thanks to XDA developers.

I know the update isn't an OTA update. I have the latest version of PC companion and even tried wiping the phone in case the OS was corrupt.

                  Ouch... SONY should really revise their choices of music albums selected for promo shots. I don't think everyone's over that Chris Brown thing just yet. Better safe than sorry IMO.

                        To TruckStop: ICS 4.0.4 update has been released and I've updated through Sony PC Companion for my arc. Just check your mobile with your PC companion and get update the new ICS for your ray.

I don't think it was an over-the-air update, though. Try using Sony's PC Companion and update from your computer!

                            the live with walkman won't get the walkman app? oh come on!

                                Don't care. Poweramp is a great music player and there are several great video apps in the Play Store.

                                I would gladly see all the junk apps in my Xperia 2011 go away (Yes, Video Unlimited, I'm talking to you), I don't need any more of those.

Some Xperia users are still waiting for their ICS update. I've had no major updates on a phone (Xperia ray) that is now over a year old and still running Gingerbread.
