The phone packs many of the same great features as the Lumia 920, sans the PureView camera.

I'm not a fan of either manufacturers but you didnt mention any pros on Nokia's side. tsk2! How about the wireless charging, the camera on 920, OIS video, smoothness of the display?

And yeah, you're right about Android winning VS WP8 in most peoples opinion but updates on Motorola??? It sucks in most peoples opinion!!! :P

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2012I am a big time nokia fan but nokia lumia 820 and 920 spec... moreI agree the the Nokias aren't that impressive, though the CPU, GPU and RAM is more than good enough to compete with the S3's Exynos and dim-lit screen and unmipressive battery, not to mention the sammy-plastic.

Main problems with the Nokias are dated Bluetooh, no SD-slot, not so big battery compared to screen size and it being TFT in the 920-case and just way to low screen res on the 820.

LG Optimus 4x is the best choice for gamers now, Tegra 3 still does a great job here. RAZR MAXX is best for those non-heavy phone gamers and people that actually wants to use their phones as much as possible and not have to charge it all the time.

The upcoming RAZR M will really shine in the midrange, and RAZR HD and HD MAXX will do everything well. Whenever the LG optimus G comes, it will be the better heavy gaming option, whenever next gen games will come out for it.

Based on shots I've seen, the RAZR HD's screen will hopefully not be as dim as the S3. Looks very bright on photos and videos.

Windows Phone 8 on Lumia 920 and 820? People
should open their eyes cos this phone is Nokia N9
design used four times for Lumia 800, Lumia 900,
Lumia 920 and Lumia 820.....come on Nokia, is that it?
way to go with ur new idea of repeating design and
slaping old boring WP OS on it......you're just like apple,
but a little better though ...............Lol..and to apple, google will ear the rest of apple, it was once bitten by microsoft thats why there is a bitten apple logo and the
reason why they don't want to have a
removeable back cover for the iPhone is because you
will see that their chipset came from Samsung, screen
from LG and camera from Sony! haha! well done Apple!

TheIndian, 06 Sep 2012Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 can really save the Nokia's sinking... moreyar i think it will just remain as the wish list of ours. the pricing will be from 25K to 38K.. example 710 is not worth for 15k.. did you see any reduction of price? you don't even have expandable memory slot and no front facing camera.. not much of expectations from pricing perspective

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2012Thanks for acting like a magnanimous android user amidst al... moreI did not mean more just now from Nokia, I was thinking more about HTC, Samsung, LG etc, I know HTC have a press conference coming up in which they are expected to debut a WP8 device.

Don't get me wrong the 920 and 820 are interesting devices (the first Nokia phones i can say that about in many years) however they are not perfect and would be lucky to achieve the kind of success that the best droids have achieved.

What I don't like is people on these forums who seem to have attached their very souls to a particular platform (or manufacturer) and see all others as a threat to their existence and would love to see them fail, its utter stupidity.

Each OS has its strength's and weaknesses, but as consumers the more choice we have the better. I've not seen anything in these two devices that will persuade me to make the switch to WP8....yet, but I like the direction it seems to be going.

                                Let's see now.

Both Motorola and Nokia launched new phones yesterday. One midranger and one top range.

                                Nokia 920 vs RAZR HD
4.5" TFT HD screen vs 4.7" SAMOLED HD screen - RAZR wins by size and tech
2000mAh vs 2530mAh battery - RAZR wins (3300mAh in HD MAXX)
Bluetooth 3.0 vs bluetooth 4.0 - RAZR wins
WP8 vs. Android - RAZR wins by most peoples opinion
32GB internal, no SD slot vs 12GB (32GB im MAXX) and SD slot - RAZR wins
                                Equal CPU/GPU
Equal screen protection - Gorilla glass
RAZR HD is also more compact and built in Kevlar and aluminium, not just aluminium. I suppose we can also assume it will bring the SplashGuard(Nano coating) as RAZR XT910.

                                Nokia 820 vs RAZR M:

4.3" WVGA AMOLED vs 4.3" qHD SAMOLED - RAZR wins
                                1650mAh vs 2000mAh battery - RAZR wins
WP8 vs. Android - RAZR wins by most peoples opinion
Bluetooth 3.0 vs bluetooth 4.0 - RAZR wins
Nothing vs HDMI - RAZR wins
Gorilla glass not mentioned vs Gorilla glass - RAZR wins, or equal.
                                Equal CPU/GPU
                                Equal internal storage and RAM
RAZR M is also more compact and built in Kevlar and aluminium, not just aluminium. I suppose we can also assume it will bring the SplashGuard(Nano coating) as RAZR XT910.

Nokia posting fake Lumia 920 pureview video to make the camera look better then it really is. Calling it Pureview, even though it doesn't bring the most important pureview feature. So only marginally better camera in the 920, and still just a cellphone camera with no optical zoom etc. So one still have to resort to the compact and/or (D)SLR for proper photos either way.
