If they delayed the Note until next year, does this mean that if they release the Galaxy S22, they would skip the 21 and named it Note 22 like with the Note 6 being skipped?

786, 18 Mar 2021What's weird, Exynos is even bigger but can't mat... moreWow that's lot of comments and researches. Do you think i was referring to benchmark and all those artifical numbers? I am with android since 2011 owning different flagships. Had the chance to own side by side exynos and snapdragon of note9. Of s8, and other flagships like xperia series and you know what? Xperia was miles ahead (XZ2) In terms of performance on heat and battery life compared to my note 9. And the note 9 snapdragon was much cooler in day to day use than this exynos note 9 right here. Sold the note 9 snapdragon due to it being a single sim only . Stupid for samsung to only release a dual sim global version as exynos. And you say rooting. Xda loves exynos phones to be rooted?well definitely its not samsung because xperia phones are easier to root . Might as well as pix phones

      What a clueless comment.

Interesting that they chose to sacrifice the high-end device. Or is it? Samsung is one of the last few remaining Android manufacturers that still bother releasing high-end Android devices. How long until they give up on this segment? Imminently, I would say.

we still need Note with pen and most of all the best Camera, thats why we choose note more than S series.
Make note with great pixels with detail while zoom in, not smudgy blurry, and of course please take extra care about the color.
the note 10 and after release have reddish blue and too contrast image, so fake color

but why does note 20 even have lower camera results compare with S21 Ultra.
Please manage the camera and notice about the camera weight and warm while using.
Keep it up Samsung! thank you for notice! can't wait for the great next NOTE series

My galaxy note 10 plus s-pen air action is not working. The pen fails to connect. Nevertheless, the other functions such writing works best well. Any support on this, please.

The pen is a nice to have and make little photo editing a breeze. Buying an extra large case to store the pen is not ideal. Still... I have the Note 20 Ultra and will be happy with this for another year.

a good strategy to make people completely forget about the existence of the note series

The galaxy note series died when they stopped discerning it from the s series. Te final nail was giving a pen to both. At this point it is a late year release of the same S phone. I dunno why are people bummed.

Just buy the utra variant of the s series and call it a Note. Lol

XDA users prefer Exynos Samsung devices not all Exynos devices. That is because Samsung prevents bootloader unlock of SD phones. Otherwise in the same Xda you can see people recommending other brands over Samsung due to SD chips, people asking how to get hold of SD Samsung phones and how to get the same camera quality of SD Samsung in Exynos Samsung and how to use Google camera in Exynos etc

let's not fantasize, snapdragon is better for performance and battery and rooting. It's not rootable only in US, but that's a specific market (they have retail herd under tight control - no rooting, no unlocking, no nothing). There are tons of other Snapdragon models worldwide, and rootable.

Jovitoreya, 18 Mar 2021Too much weed bro? Have you been reading latest comparison ... moreWhat's weird, Exynos is even bigger but can't match these two. No idea what Samsung put there."

This is probably due to TSMC having a *far* denser 5nm process node compared to Samsung's process 5nm node. Per the article below TSMC's 5nm node tops at 173 million transistors per mm^2 while Samsung's 5nm node reaches only 126.5 MTr/mm^2 (i.e. barely denser than TSMC's second gen 7nm+ node) due to much more, er, "conservative" design choices (Samsung basically just switched from DDB cells in 7nm to SDB cells; the article explains what that means).

What is often not clear is that the quoted transistor densities of each process node are always the *maximum* transistor densities, not the actual transistor densities used to fab a die. For instance Intel have three different 10nm node variants with three different densities, a low, mid and high density variant (ranging I believe from ~55 million to ~100 million transistors per mm^2). The last one is the only one that has been widely reported, the other two were intended for the tech savvy press and audience.

Each Intel 10nm die has a mix of all three libraries, but each design is (obviously) *fixed* with a precise mix of the three. The desktop parts always have a higher percentage of low density cells because these need to clock higher, and vice versa for the mobile parts. Mobile phones are efficiency focused, so their SoCs have the highest percentage of the highest density variant of each process node that is possible (without hindering performance too much).

That is an additional reason their clocks top at ~3 GHz. Since the two SoCs of the article are both mobile SoCs of an almost identical design we can assume a roughly equivalent percentage of the highest density cells each process node maxes out at. Thus, if all else was being equal (including the same iGPU) Samsung's SoC would have a roughly ~27% larger die than TSMC's SoC. That must be the main reason Samsung kept the cache sizes of the X1 and the A55 cores low.

Jovitoreya, 18 Mar 2021You're so funny You're living in your own fantasy landIt depends, in the Samsung Galaxy S8 they come pretty close and are among the most powerful smartphone processors around.

From what I have seen Exynos performs a little better than Snapdragon in terms of multi-core benchmarks and other-way around in single core scores. Snapdragon processors seem to be clocked higher in terms of clock speed resulting in higher single core performance. When it comes to graphics performance they come pretty close, Exynos might be faster by few fps.

Maybe these are due to the optimisations Samsung does in terms of drivers and software to improve performance on their devices. It seems that Exynos leads in terms of battery life by a small margin.
