At least you don't have to worry about silly carrier-specific VoLTE certification with 3G. It just works.

Well what would you expect from T-Mobile? The company is going to shut down Sprint entirely either sooner or later. From this article T-Mobile prefers to shut Sprint down sooner. I'll predict that eventually Dish will also get out of the cellphone business, leaving America with 3 companies just like Canada is now. Prepare for it.

JohnNy L, 02 Apr 2021Hello Didh. We are in 2021 and 4g and 5g is the way to go. ... moreReally? Why most of the online usage globally is on WiFi. The irony is that the best network mode for calls for a lot of people is now 2g. A lot of android phones let you isolate the connection to 2g or 3g only, 2g/3g as well as 2g/3g/4g. when I'm indoors I turn my connection to 2g only and then use WiFi for my data.y call quality on 2g is excellent.

Dish and Boost Mobile need to tell their customers, "Sorry, but the phones you bought back in 2005 are getting old and won't work with the service much longer. You need to upgrade to this phone that uses LTE technology that came out in 2011, or this one with 5G technology that's new"
It costs consumers more in recurring costs to force cell providers to support 2G (released in 1996) 3G (released in 2001) 4G UMTS (releases in 2009) than it would cost to upgrade a small percentage of phones to modern tech. About 90% of customers' phones already use 4G LTE (released in 2011).

Who in their legal senses would still own a 3G-banded phone in 2021; I hope they're not talking about the customers having a 2012-13s models with Android 4.2 laying in a closet. Even the new 'keypads' are coming with atleast 4G-bands (I'm not talking about 4G-data, just 4G-bands), and many smartphone brands have already decided to disintegrate 2G-3G by 2022-23. Heck some countries don't even support these networks.

What are you talking about? Most of the indoor coverage in the UK is 3g, I can't imagine it would be different in the US...

Hello Didh. We are in 2021 and 4g and 5g is the way to go. Not 3g!!

What about people using feature phones? They stille xist even if in minority now. Most of them only support up to 3G. A lot of them still only 2G. Which is enough for calls and SMS and they don't really need any more since phones aren't capable anyways. Not to mention these older networks generally have much better wall penetration and long distance coverage.
