lg made the mistake in telephony instead of thinking about aesthetics and software updates to waste their energy on useless accessories in the daily use of the phone, such as the dual screen, which doubles the weight of the phone, battery consumption and space.
samsung sells a lot of phones without dual screens or other useless accessories in everyday use, advertising has nothing to do with it

I love LG phone because it double tap on the sceen to turn of the phone. LG need to advertise their phones a lot more. In order to get their consumers to look at the LG differently. Cuz I see more advertising are other phones than LG phones. LG phones are the best quality phones that I ever had it is sad to see them go and upsetting to see a really good company with a really good phone

My first phone was lg and still I am using lg. Just improve the marketing division. Even stores aren't promoting lg phones. I think focusing on marketing division which include advertising will help lg to gain profit. Don't give up since lg is one of the best brand.

I switched from samsung to LG because of problems happening with the phone and samsung not wanting to do anything about it. I have had a G8X thinq with dual screen an I love it. So sad to see them go.

While the world loathes on about bad software and updates (I'm using G8x right now), I think the marketing portion was the weakest among companies...
First overpricing devices, of course granted due to the presence of QuadDAC, but still... Then they can't afford to drop prices a little at a time, because it doesn't create the bang, so they go all out.
Plus retailers just don't wish to sell LG in my city, no idea why?
Even Samsung recovered from the Galaxy Note 7 explosion and Apple with plenty every generation like the bendgate and all, LG didn't even have a remotely comparable scandal, at best bricked sets recoverable from warranty and software flash.
Marketing could've modified people's minds as the latest G8x is really cool overall, even with its minor bugs.

Well they shouldn't give up. I had two LG phones and they were ok for the price. Really can't complain and their budget phones worked without any problems. Their G series were not bad but they priced it too high on release and people wouldn't buy them but if you wait a few months you can pick it up cheaper. Still think they should have stayed in mobile.

I was hoping to see the s series continue ...sad to be edified on news of this spontaneous exit...lg had made some real good phones over the years

As all the others says; LG has to blame themselves for the bad decisions. Among the many bad decisions, the ones that really hurt LG is pricing, in my opinion. True! that LG phones had worse cameras (compared to Apple/Samsung), Ture! LG phones had worse software (update or optimization whatever) compared to Apple/Samsung. But when you compare their phones with others such as Motorola, Nokia, Sony, etc, LG phones were not that bad. But the price was too high. If G5/6/7/8 were $300 less from day1, people would have lined up. If Velvet was $400, I would have bought one. Engineers/software developers don't set the price. It all fells to mid-to-top managers, asking for $800 for their phones. The funny thing is; their phone price dropped so fast anyway, because no one was paying their asking prices. Yet, they continued to try to set their price so high.

Outdated designs and lackluster cameras the past three years really messed them up.
