I got my score from reviewer who had device, 325K score which is better than any 4g sd 700 series including 720G, 732G, 730G etc.

        480 belong to 5g series soc, it's weaker compare 690G and 750G but stronger than all 4g soc like sd 720G, 732g etc.


        So still 480 is bottom of the line but but only if you compare it to fellow 5g soc.

Also does this mean another price hike if a 4xx chipped phone costs £250-£300? What will the next phones with 7xx or 8xx chips cost?

If this chip is really as powerful as a 6 or 7xx chip why put it in the 4xx series? Does this mean that all the new chips are suddenly gonna perform to a whole new level now if the 4 series are as powerful as 7 series does that mean the new 7 series will be more powerful than the latest 870 or 888 or is it just a random chip that punches above its weight? As if phone naming wasn't confusing enough these days now Qualcomm jumping on the confusing naming game!

It's a bit weird but the 480 is more like a 600 or 700 series in performance. You're right that usually the 400 series are budget or entry level chipsets. It's a bit better though using WiFi 6 and 5G and usually gets over 200,000.

                  Snapdragon 480 is a mid range chipset??? Its actually a 4 series from qualcomm, which are their budget socs. 6 is their low mid range, 7 is upper mid range, 8 is their flagship.

                              I was quite happy about it until I read the last section of the article that mentions the price. I am willing to spend a maximum of $250 for this, though some people will find this price high too.
