The risk with Us is that they blame your spying and get blacklisted and just cause they do better then some of there companies and competitions need to be banned and the other reason that America is in market war with China so no move against China is a dirty business move. While there were no problem if Us needed to take loan in Trillions from China and move most of the brands factories to China to make more profit from cheap labor.

Samsung still sell more phone than Xiaomi.
Vivo and OPPO are still comparable.
Apple still own half of the high end phone market.
LG smartphone department started to deficit back to 2015 , at that time Xiaomi is new in global market,why you think Xiaomi kill the LG?
If a big company lose its innovation and dont meat the requirement of the global market, it will die.
old Nokia dead, old Motorola dead, HTC dying, maybe next in line is Sharp or Sony.

But, to tell you the truth I kind of like that Xiaomi will be no.1 and even more companies will end up like LG, because of them.
Then all this Xiaomi fanboys will have to buy only Xiaomi phones, without any other valid options (except maybe Samsung). And of course, when Xiaomi management will see this, they will not invest anymore in anything or innovate at all.
Then, I will see them cry for new companies to emerge, for them to have more options.
They probably think now Xiaomi is thinking of them. And they will do that forever. Lol. How naïve. Xiaomi is just on the wave now. Once they will be on top, they will not care anymore.

Xioami mid range product quality is way better than their competition in same price range.
They improved alot in camera and software department too. No overpriced mediocre hardware phone.

It doesn't matter if you're no.1 or no.5, the quality of a company's products shouldn't change either way.
If they will reach no. 1 will they improve their quality? That's the most important thing, not to be no.1.
Hopefully they will change their business strategy. Ditch all ads from all of their phones and release only a few phones annually (something like Apple, One Plus or Sony is doing now). Not rebrand every phone they have 3-4 times per year. Not to mention improve that naming scheme, which is not simple and confuses many of the customers.
And focus on global markets too. Now they are mainly releasing the good stuff in China and sometimes India. The rest of the world is getting left overs at higher prices. And the same goes for their software. Many times, their software updates reach global models even couple of months later than their Chinese models.
