If only a strong rim higher than the display will go around it, then it will be the best foldable implementation from Samsung. Otherwise, let's go rollable (also not without the rim).

this actually looks like xiaomi concept foldable that was demoed by its vice prez, lin bin, back then, doesn't seem like a good idea.

How is this thing supposed to survive real world use? Foldable displays are already fragile, wrapping the outside with them seems like insanity from an engineering perspective.

Until the durability is improved these designs are just cool concepts of tech, not something consumer ready.

Acorns, 02 Jun 2021I'm all for advancing tech and new ideas and form fact... more*pocket sized*

I'm all for advancing tech and new ideas and form factors but I hope manufacturers keep traditional 'slab' handsets as separate to 'folding or rollable' devices. As a 55 year old 'average' user I'm more than happy with the flat 6.7 inch screen on my Poco X3 NFC for everything I do on a phone, including watching YouTube etc and don't need a screen that expands to laptop or even tablet size. I'm sure there are plenty of scenarios where folding screens will come in handy especially in certain businesses but for most everyday users I still think the picket sized slab is the most practical form factor. Anyway that's just my opinion feel free to agree or disagree. Peace guys ✌️

So.. physical power button, volume button will back on top?

It cool .. but in long run this device probably not going last.. no matter faceup or facedown, the screen definitely will scratch in no time.

All that matters is the apps. If Samsung can encourage the devs of top iPad Pro applications such as Shapr3D, Adobe Illustrator, Luma Fusion etc to develop Android versions suited to the Fold, then we'll be talking - as long as the apps are as responsive as on the iPad Pro. We use an iPad Pro with those apps and they make the price of the iPad worth it. But anything to be able to use just one device that can fit in my pocket!
Apple are of course working on a foldable too, and chances are, it will be very well executed, even if late to the table(t). :)
