I own a Lumia 710 among other devices and was willing to give the another Lumia another chance but a 800 x 480 screen, no Gorilla glass, lower spec SoC and a high-end price for a mid-range device means I'll pass.

When a device is made of decent hardware and cool features. Why not, you don't know how much nokia spent to buy the materials used in building this phone, you know its not just made of mere metal, you don't know how much the hardwares cost, you may think the materials are not important but if ur phone with 128gb 2gb ram sd slot and all with bad material finish and cost really cheap, if that phone falls, it will definetely get spoilt and u'll go back and repair or buy a new phone, the money spent on that phone has increased, so if Nokia price their phones a little bit higher than samsung and lg and the rest of the android gang at least cut them some slack, we all know Nokia uses decent materials to build their phones and their phones don't easily get spoilt when it hits the ground like samsung does (no offense). Just give them the benefit of the doubt.

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2012Then get the hell out of here and get Nexus. Why are you wa... morethat's the ideea ... Google have done something that others don't do even in nightmares - LOWER PRICES ... incredible as it may sound they did it and they sell top hardware+good software for way less than similar offers from competition -- and they do it with all products

Now, one might say "omg it's made by LG" ... but the nexus7 and nexus10 aren't made by LG and still they are 200$ cheaper than competition while having better hardware.
I actually look forward to my first encounter with WP8 ... but at 600+euro for Lumia920&HTCWP8X ... well, the 350E nexus is a lap ahead in the race...

A small correction to the article:

The Lumia 820 SIM-free is slightly cheaper (450€) in Germany than in the UK (380£ ~ 470€), see:

The Lumia 920 is available for 600€ SIM-free from the same store.

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2012nexus 4 is 300 pounds ... it kinda beats everything in almo... moreNexus 4 16GB is actually £279, so £100 less than this Nokia. Yes it lacks microSD and 4G - so what.

Nexus is just 1cm taller but:
+ thinner & lighter with bigger screen with much higher resolution (unlike 2010 pentile matrix Nokia - not even qhd there!)
                              + twice the RAM (2GB)
+ quad core Krait CPU (instead of dual core)
+ _much_ better GPU (roughly 2-3 times the performance of Andreno 225 in Lumia)
+ last but not least, Android 4.2 as an OS is not only different playground than WP8 - but is probably not even the same league or sport. And community which usually Nexus devices get (and support) is first class.

Windows Phone 8 is finally step forward, but it'll take MS at least half year to 'catch up' and question is - if Google services will get some treatment at all. But go ahead - be a guinea pig. Others are already enjoying 700 000 apps on Android - and what a hell of an OS it has become!

Not a bad phone, but totally wrong price. Ah - you got offline maps. Well, there are dozens of quality one for £30 on Android, you know? (TomTom, Garmin, Sygic, Co-Pilot..to name a few)

i mean, 480x800, that was the resolution of my cellphone in 2009. It was a Nokia by the way. And now its almost 2013, Nokia dont know?
