The Xperia is the most realistic-looking photo quality that I ever see from the current flagship smartphone. It almost matches the photo quality of the nine-year-old Nokia 808 PureView.

4.and where did nokia 808 come from? Ur talking about the cropping yes ik that. But even if I was saying something like that I would have been saying it about quad Bayer not bayers. Also 8k takes way to much storage without a sd card. Like srsly 5 min vid and 1-2 gb vid. It's esp annoying when u have a flagship and it doesn't have sd card but u want 8k videos. That's why ppl prefer 4k.also not everyone has thta much knowledge about cameras and stuff like that for them to downscale and edit 8k videos into like 4k and 6k etc etc.

2.u still srsly think an average user would use 8k?actuall proffesoinal photohrapher uses a camera for that. 8k downscaling to 4k does bring better detail yes and better texture too. But difference is basically unnoticeable for any normal person. Any photographer would do what u said but not on a phone. In fact ppl use recording on phone to just get casual photage or take some nice photos just oncase they forgot thier cameras.

4.s21 ultra price is like 1200 euro what do u expect. Plus just based on camera specs u can't judge it. Mos tlikely this will destroy the s21 ultra in camera quality.

If the sensor of the tele camera is a Bayer sensor and if the effective diameter of the lens is about as large as the effective diameter of the P40 Pro Plus "10x" periscope camera, then the "3.5x" camera could outperform the angular resolution of the P40 Pro Plus "10x" camera and would be also much better at zoom settings below 10x.

Interesting ... Monochrome lens & stereo speakers make a comeback on P series ..
If they really purposely disable 5g, then they really want to sell this cheaper than 5g flagships ...

What I would like to see is the periscope camera of the P40 Pro Plus, but with more pixels. This would improve the angular resolution and would allow for sharper moon photos (without machine learning).
Until recently, I thought that due to diffraction, the P40 Pro Plus periscope camera wouldn't have any advantage, if it had more pixels. I tested some lenses and the result was that an f-number to pixel size (in micrometer) ratio of approximately 3.5 or higher is enough in order to capture basically everything that is possible regarding the diffraction of the lens. The P40 Pro Plus has a ratio of 3.6. But recently, I found out that my test wasn't accurate, a ratio of 3.5 is still not high enough, more pixels can still deliver noticeably more detail, if the lens is extremely sharp and if multi frame noise reduction is applied. Though, smartphone periscope cameras don't have conventional lenses, but rectangular lenses as far as I know, so the diffraction could be slightly different.

SShreyas, 28 Jul 2021You've seriously misunderstood the idea of 60 fps. 60 ... moreMain reason why they stick to 24fps is set props. Simple movie sets and props are made out of ligth and disposable materials such as foam. When shot on 24fps it looks real to life but when shot on 60fps it looks like exactly what it is - a cheap prop. Exterior landscape shots look amazing aat 60fps but as soon as that fake physical prop castle shows up in the shot and camera closes on it, it looks like crap.
Btw you should not film anything in 4K/60fps using a mobile phone because you are recording at inferior quality. Stick with 4K/30fps and if you want ultimate quality disable image stabilization and object tracking and then stable the image on a computer using Fusion or Resolve. Use 4K/60fps in harsh light conditions that are so bright that you are getting no data in highlights.
