Whatsapp is like BBM, sooner or later it will disappear. Telegram could be the new whatsapp.

My family and friends only use WhatsApp because the rest of their circle only use WhatsApp as well, therefore they don't see the need to use something else. Heck, even when I told them about WhatsApp privacy concerns, they never even bat an eye about it. Since I started using Telegram in 2016, I don't have any intention to go back to WhatsApp as my preferred social messaging app. I was forced to use WhatsApp again because they dropped the official support for Windows Phone, and I still don't like it.

I get notifications fr... moreFor example - in my country, Telegram is only used for drugs and pirating TV shows and movies. WhatsApp is the main messaging app, used by almost all of the population.
Sure, half of my contacts appear to have a Telegram account, but they are not active and most do not answer their messages.

Group video calls with up to 30 participants and up to 1000 spectators. This is much better than Clubhouse and all its clones. At least we can see them having real interaction face-to-face instead of just hearing them. Kudos to Telegram for such a wondrous feature. ❤
