Retailers are. Most consoles are sf outside of Sony's store. Once Sony sells a stock to a retailer, they have to more control over them. Pls educate yourself.

Wow ! Now this is something Sony. Bravo ! What BS. PS5 at this moment is nothing but trash and the quality of production is low. Two of my friends finally managed to buy PS5 after waiting for more than 6 months and both of them have coil noise. After almost 1 years since it was launched they didn't bother to improve the quality but they come out with this new BS edition.

Sony has made no effort to look at which distributors have sold large quantities that have not reached the stores.
Considering that it's now more than one year that this problem exists, Sony could have set up direct sales to customers with limits of one item per customer but they don't care because these PS5 still count as sold, they have low margin on them at the moment so there is no incentive to give them to large sellers that want large discounts (e.g. Amazon) so they are happy to sell them to dishonest distributors.
To recap: the fact that scalpers are making money and customers are deprived of PS5s at list price is definitely Sony's fault.
But eventually it will turn against them because developers continue to be forced to release games for PS4 given that so many are unable to move to PS5.

Most places in the world usually have it in another store. The US is probably the only one with Playstation Direct or whatever it's called. Why not mention the other stores?

The same goes to PC gaming, is almost imposible to get a new graphics card and scalpers are asking crazy amount of money for GPU's.
