vivo X70 Pro+ goes live with SD888+ and custom V1 image processor chip

09 September 2021
Other improvements include 50W wireless fast charging, slightly bigger and an IP68 rating. The screen is bigger too, a 6.78" Samsung E5 panel.

Let's see what the cameras are like, we'll see reviews soon. The X60 Pro+ camera was rated worse than the X50 Pro+ and I am not holding my breath that Vivo has the knowhow to do better processing. But, we'll know soon enough.

Lot of Chinese phones can be bought vat free through certain sites.

UK had the worse prices this year.
Just look at the S21 Ultra, the same Euro and dollar based price is sold in pounds.

Importing them can save you bucks though, i saw that bangood now sells the op9 pro 256 gb for 670€ for example and you don't pay import duties anymore. The resale value is always worse though as it doesn't have European aftersales service and warantees. I myself bought the chinese version of the x60 pro plus sent from a european warehouse. While Iiked the phone, you have the usual annoyances such as band compatibility, delayed notifications, and some chinese apps and text in the UI remaining even if you switch to english language.

The 2nd and 3rd slide images are about how deep learning could improve the resolution of BME-HDR images and suppress moires/false colours respectively, and are nothing to do with RGBW CFA.

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2021Oppo advertised 12bit raw photos for X3 series. They did for Find X2 Pro, not for X3 Pro. What they are dubbing as "RAWPlus" is merely a 10-bit RAW image with embedded processing profiles (although I haven't been able to confirm this - regular RAW and RAWPlus images are indistinguishable from each other in my personal testing at the store). They don't mention 12-bit capture anywhere in their product page for X3, either.

It's a bit dissappointing to see a regular GN1 sensor that is quite dated at this point (instead of whatever the custom WGBW sensor rumoured in the past), as well as a rather pointless 50mm portrait camera and a tiny 8MP periscope, but everything else seems really solid - A flagship-grade display panel, stereo speakers, 512GB option, much larger battery capacity and the Plus variant of SD888. Now I'm curious about how much contribution V1 ISP can make to improving the image quality.

Take the mi11 ultra for example. It launched at €785($929) in China but at €1,200 in Europe ($1419). That is over a 50% price difference. Now take Indonesia where it cost the equivalent of $1,191 ( a 28%) price hike. The price is different again in other countries and regions. So which one is the global price? In any case based on this estimate your estimate that it would be $100 more expensive seems unrealistic regardless of country. Xiaomi's price for a flagship is over $500 more expensive in Europe and $290 in Indonesia for example so it's likely to be similar for Vivo
