by the time sony unviels the phone to compete with ip5 and sam s3 next year Q1 both manufacturer will also release their next upcoming phones.. hope sony also competes with ip5s and sam s4 next year..

You fanboys do realize that Samsung is the only one capable of mass-producing high-end chips and Apple, as Samsung's biggest client, is the only one capable of modifying it to their specific OS needs? Everyone else is pretty much out of the picture.
Xperia T - c'mon, 1850mAh battery, barely larger than my 2+ years old Wave! Motorola is gonna' by far overshine Sony, especially in the battery department (and being a Google subsidiary, by updating speed and longevity too).

Oh yes, Sony is Japanese as you say, but almost all of the Sony phones are made in China!

Assuming that they are just using the example of currently available phones in that speech but really they expects to compete with the ip5s and s4, then the quad core krait will be too old. While the screens res and camera may be on par with s4, s4 will be on quad a15 which will destroy this in benchmarks! So either way Sony will be behind on the pace settlers. How does Sony execs not understand this. Their strategy to differentiate the products with the nxt line haven't worked, but neither will the push for flagship devices at this point.

everyone will be on the nexus 4 boat. People complaining about no lte are silly. In most, 99%, of cases hsdpa+ is faster than the available lte, not to mention lte is a rip off priced contract. And no micro sd....whatever 8gb is plenty for like 15.000 m4a songs, with eaac+ codec. And 16gb for double that. Now whose the f listens to a thausand songs let alone 5 or 10 thousands ?.who ever has so much free time needs to rethink theyr life.

The article is pretty mush saying Sony has plans to compete against the top phones in the industry. At this point is the s3 and ip5, as the top 2 phones by far on the planet. They used these ones as references, but of course, the main point is Sony plans to unleash their beast machine in the coming year to basically compete against Samsung's best, and the ip5. Everyone is pretty much after the ip5. So it's good. Sony makes quality stuff, unlike samsung. They will make a phone with awesome camera and awesome sound quality device. Can't wait to see what they will do. Sony being a Japanese company has so much potential. Finally a Japanese smart phone will come out. Can't wait. ip5s will come out in q3, cmon, we all know that, I expect sony will come out with something by then.

It's a pitty though. When SE changed to Sony, I had such high hopes, specs were pretty good on paper etc. But it seems they haven't learned from their TV-business' demise :( Only thing working right in Sony is the design department, everything else is limping both legs. Once a giant, soon to be dead or a minor name in the market (like Kodak)...

Seems counter productive that they'd release something to compete so late. Samsung will likely launch an SIV by the end of Q2 and there's already speculation on the 5s.

That's a little late, considering that the Galaxy S4 will be out anytime between April and June. It's the Galaxy S1 and Xperia Arc all over again.
