Unless the American restrictions change it'll probably be a few years before there is another flagship chip (if they don't give up on them in the meantime). Pity. Changed from a phone with a kirin 990 chip to a snapdragon 870 one and the 5g stability was so much better on the phone with the Kirin one. Would expect some of Xiaomi/Vivo/Oppo to start designing their own chips at some stage to fill the void and distinguish themselves from each other but will probably take them years to reach a similar standard

That is why 4G still remains relevant. If we really want to see truly wide adoption of 5G, we have to wait for at least five years time.
