I believe, not sure, that I've read somewhere that this phone comes rooted, so you don't have to worry about flyme, don't like it get rid of it.

I really think they have better designers than Apple has. They started off with an iPhone copy and ended up with a better design than iPhone 5.

Meizu partnered with 360buy.com, by the way. They're an international seller like Amazon and that might be a way to finally get Meizu phones outside of China/Hong Kong/Russia without using a reseller.

I would love to see a shred of evidence that the MX or MX2 are in any danger of a legal confrontation with Apple. Put them side by side with an iPhone and the differences are very obvious. To date nobody who has seen my MX has confused it for an iPhone (I live in the US where Apple fandom is strong).
Anyway, they did a lot right with the MX2. As soon as it's available I'll sell my MX quad core for one. Hopefully it can now power USB devices so we can take advantage of its USB OTG capability without needing a powered USB hub. I also hope the dedicated battery management chipset can make use of that 1800 mAh battery (really surprised they didn't opt for bigger, especially since the phone is slightly bigger than the previous MX and they managed to squeeze a bigger battery into the quad core vs the dual core version).
Only real criticism: does the back need to be so damn slippery? I wish more people would borrow the textured sides/back from Motorola so we can grip our several hundred dollar devices a little better.
