It's obviously a hideous policy Motorola need to shake free of if they wish to expand their market share.
Neither does this policy help those of us who'd like this phone on a contract but don't live in the US.

The truth is that Samsung is the only one which updates fast its phones (only their flagships though). Motorola's flagship is Razr HD/Razr i, and both got Jelly Bean (or will get this week). Since Atrix HD, they are updating their new phones fast. Razr XT910 will get Jelly Bean so what's the problem. Wait a little bit.

Maybe it'd be smarter to ommit 4.1, and go straight to 4.2.1
Or maybe, just maybe, unlock bootloader? It'd be nice to have ex. CM10 fully working on my RAZR...
