Does anyone know if the Nokia 920 (not the 920T version) sold in China will be restricted to the Chinese version of MarketPlace (yes, they are selling both versions here)? This is the case with Android phones - in that Android phones sold on the legitimate market can only access the Chinese app store - which is heavily restricted on what apps are available (i.e. apps like Facebook etc aren't even available). I want to get one of these phones here, but concerned it will be locked to the Chinese marketplace. Could always get one on the grey market (usually the HK or Taiwan model) but that can be a real pain. Any insight is greatly appreciated, and sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

    Cheers

antychina, 06 Dec 2012Let me guess: each of this phone has a special rootkit soft... morethey do not need any special root kit. it has been decades that any mobile network provider can track what sms, phone calls a customer makes. because they all use the sim card.

China edition. Otherwise known as the Big Brother edition. The PRC government needs to be sure they can access everyone's phones to spy on people.

Well, i bet MANY will buy it. It already have thousands of advance orders in taobao webstore even price and availability is not fixed yet.

What I wonder as non chinese (even live in china), that does 920T support only Chinese 3G, or also European ones. Earlier Nokia's China models did not support EU or US 3G networks. Also interested to know about LTE support.
