TikTok sure does have a good business model if you're trying earn money from the app like me or possibly work with them I think privacy law's might actually be a problem in some ways sometimes as a downside of privacy is mods on TikTok still need protect the users but without clear rules or information on the user's the platform could actually have a hard time with knowing who too treat on the platform as unknown users could be anything

The same goes for Facebook > Meta transition.

What this news is about, is due to the recent TikTok inquiry they had in congress.
There it was mostly established that TikTok was manipulating the USA citizens privacy for their own needs. Where their ties to its parent company was shown, and that it's parent company was tied to the Chinese Government. Their representative refused to answer questions, under the pressure of perjury.

So, I believe the organisation has understood that it can be profitable and successful, by playing by the rules. So I wouldn't be surprised if this re-shuffling was to properly segregate TikTok International from it's parent company ByteDance/Douyin to avoid getting banned in Europe and USA. But I equally would not be surprised if this re-shuffling was facetious, and nothing was really changed, and they only made appearance to follow restrictions imposed.

By restructuring into different units they're likely hoping to streamline operations and increase profits, getting ready for a future IPO.
