Flashback: Samsung Galaxy S6 got a lot of hate, but it also got many things right

19 December 2021
Samsung changed lanes - from the plastic, utilitarian Galaxy S5 to the sleek Galaxy S6 - and sacrificed multiple features to get there.

Still using it today since 2015 with factory battery.
Samsung has made some stupid decisions in the past years tagging along with stupid Apple decisions, unfortunately users still buy expensive smartphones that have been droping hardware and funcionality (3,5 jack, no microSD slot, non-replaceable battery, removing the charger) these features are the most significant, still people buy the smartphones... in that case they do as it pleases them...

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2021No surprise Apple even try to sue samsung because of S seri... moreMy comment was sarcasm towards some hypocrites "rightfully criticising" Galaxy S6 for looking too similar to iPhone 6 back in 2016 despite them having a drastically different design and frame structure from each other. You know, a ridiculous sentiment that nobody would or should agree with in 2022.

Optional, 20 Dec 2021Atleast all falgship must have1440p Not necessary at all. Full Hd plus with newer technology is already great.

The year of the Galaxy S6 was the year I decided to not upgrade my Note 4 to what I considered the mediocre Note 5. In my country only the 32 GB variant was sold. Buying it didn't make sense since I already had a 128 GB memory card in my 32 GB Note 4.

Jimmy Potter, 19 Dec 2021It was perfect except the battery! It was the first Samsung phone to seal the battery. Ever since we live in Hades. Charge times measured in hours (used to be 1 minute back in the swap era), extended battery of 2-3 times the thickness (external batteries vs spares), the phones is uskess once it's battery dies.

Greatest downgrade in ages. I guess for some it was ... perfect, lol

Do you remember when this phone came out and many iPhone users claimed that S6 is an iPhone ripoff? Yeah, I wonder what they would've said if they had known what most phones would look like in 2021..

2016 was still a year where brands had a unique design scheme for their respective products, but now.. sigh.

One of my biggest mistakes was selling my gold S6, the battery was pure trash, I could watch percentage dropping while idling but it was such an elegant and powerful phone.

"the S5 was criticized for sticking with 1080p"

Lol whut?! I still find 1080p on smartphone is more than enough. If I want to go 1440p, I'll go for a tablet, not a smartphone.
