And yet, it's still going to be a Nubia device, so it won't be worth having. Much like everything else they do, it'll be abandoned immediately after they release it.
That way they can release another phone 3 months, later... And repeat the process.

And the problem is that the camera here is hidden, on top of having no ways of knowing if it is turned on or not, the issue is about the false sense of privacy it gives once you forget the camera.
And a false sense of privacy is worse than no privacy on a device.
My problem with Underdisplay Camera is that there are better alternatives, which, for the user, give the same result of "full display + no visible camera", except that they also have privacy, on top of other advantages (normal quality, cheap, easy to make, etc).
Those "Disappearing camera" concepts should be the next tech, they are better in every possible aspects than Underdisplay Camera that are full of issues, but because of this obsession with UD cameras, those techs are being ignored.

Anonymous, 28 Jan 2022I believe with these under display camera, the part of the ... moreActually this is one of the myth that make UD camera dangerous, it doesn't need to be OFF to see, it won't see well, but spying isn't about instagram quality, it is about data, and it can see more than enough with the pixels being lit it front of the camera.
The camera isn't focused at all on the display, most of the light from the pixels is scattered away.

So if the camera is being used, you’ll probably notice, unless watching 16:9 video. Not to say they won’t spy, but it should actually make it more noticeable

Companies putting under-display cameras in everything to justify price increase. Can also be used to justify them cutting corners on their camera hardware since they'll just say that its to be expected that underdisplay cameras will always have bad quality.
