I don't know why people complain about the death of OxygenOS. It's very similar to ColorOS, which is great to use. If it has OxygenOS's touches on top, why does it matter what's under the hood?

I've been with OnePlus since it started, and just purchased the 9 Pro. Looks like this will be my last OnePlus. I've had 10 in my immediate family. Jumping ship, can't do the China thing!!!

Yes. But one plus is doing very bad with their users

I don't mind having the Oppo-unified OxygenOS like in Nord 2 5G. It looks the same as the standalone legacy OxygenOS and that's fine by me.

Vic4BBM, 02 Feb 2022It's simple to understand what this means. One+ are... moreTrue

OnePlus should do away with ColorOs. They're forgetting people bought op for their clean buggy free Oxygen Os experience.

Probably it will be same as Android 12 on OnePlus 9 series, a crippled Color OS 12 with OOS theme.

It's simple to understand what this means.

One+ are nothing but mostly rebadged OPPO phones. Similarly, so called Oxygen OS will be nothing but renamed Color OS.

Will this mean they will use the same OS as the Nord 2? From what I gathered from that release, the half and half solution is so buggy that a barely reskinned Colors OS is an upgrade. :/

Oneplus been giving the same PR talk since 2020 when news broke that Oneplus in China will use ColorOS. They even claimed at the time OOS will remain for global but we all know what happened. OOS 11 onwards are just ColorOS with OOS aesthetics.

Soon oneplus will have to go back to how it was before. Seeing as how theres people out there that feel like its noy even a oneplus anymore so people will not go and buy it like before. So this unified stuff isnt gonna last long. If they made a contract for 5 or 10 years then we will have to wait till its over to then get the TRUE oneplus.

So the Nord 2, which was released six months ago, had ColorOS under the hood with an OOS skin on top? That was supposed to result in faster updates (my Nord 2 has the December patch with Android 11, so...so much for that) and newer devices were going to follow this approach.

Now, the next generation of flagships isn't following this course. I didn't think my confidence in OnePlus and Realme could drop any further, but BBK continues to surprise me. ;) Could this be the result of the ColorOS backlash?
