However I am fine with that, I play what I lack via Spotify and when I want something they lack, I have it locally.
Also the compatibility with different devices is better with Spotify in my opinion.

With the Rogan controversy causing some Spotify subscribers to seem alternatives, perhaps Apple is simply trying to monetize this potential new audience more rapidly. Of course, Spotify switchers do have other options though (I'm one of those switchers myself and chose Tidal, who at the time were doing three months for £1).
